There is no law that gives you preferential access to public funds. You pay more taxes because you earn more, that is called progressive taxation.
Progressive taxation is a cornerstone of the Democracy, if you do not like it you should promote system of Feudalism or Slavery. Let's see how much support you get.

A flat tax works that way.
Figure out what progressive tax rates are

    Pure silliness.
Has nothing to do with democracy

Yes, it does, since it is a only way to keep economic disparity in check.
Flat tax leads to the total destruction of the economy.

Why all the "circling around" with a string of non-sequiturs to end up in such a simple, albeit invalid, point?

You have a right to live in a society. Or not live in a society. If you choose to live in a society, you have rights, and you have obligations. You cannot dismiss your obligations by claiming that they violate some made up "negative rights". If you live in a society, you have fundamental rights that have been established following a universal moral principle. The reason you choose to live in a society is because you are protected. You have a legal system, you have a military, some form of civil policing system, ... They are made to protect the cohesion of that society. Basic rights are guaranteed such as the right to live, the right to work, the right to form a family, education, access to healthcare. The reason these are rights is that, without them, social cohesion of the community is compromised.

In other words, rights are not rights just because... I like them, or you like them.... They exist for a reason: to protect social cohesion. They are not ethereal concepts that somebody arbitrarily defines as "legitimate" and "not legitimate". They exist if they protect social cohesion. But they always come accompanied by obligations to that society.

And this right to healthcare violates the rights of others. It is therefore not legitimate.

    What "right" does it violate?

And why do I even have to ask? What is it with you that you can't make your case without going around and around in circles?

This is a good point. Capitalism is inherently unstable and how it engineers greater inequalities is a crucial aspect of that. Ultimately liberals are the best capitalists.

It depends upon how you intend to enforce this positive right.
    Ask what?
Circles? I thought I was going in a straight line.

Exactly like I said. By violating a negative right. Ergo, not legitimate.

You choose to live in a society, you pay taxes. Period! Free loaders need not apply.

Here in California we need subsidized gasoline and diesel fuel.

I paid $5. per gallon for diesel fuel this morning in the totalitarian state of California.

We also need subsidized electricity in the totalitarian state of California.

SCE is charging as high as .42 cents per KWH.

During low peak hours it's only .24 cents per KWH.

You seem to think that I am asking for benefits. I'm not sure what makes you think that.

A positive right can't be enforced without violating negative rights. Therefore, positive rights are illegitimate.

You volunteering to raise your tax rates to the highest level, so that you can cover your obligation, or do you want others to subsidize your share of the bill?

WTF does government mandates have to do with rights?
Just because you dont understand big boy concepts doesn't mean you know what you're talking about.
