Is the property worth 300 million or 25-50 million? He lied to someone.

What’s sad is his supporters know he’s a crook and don’t want it made public.

I see you still don't understand how property tax works.

    Let me help.

The value of a property, and the taxable value of a property, are often wildly different.

Ask the jackasses living in NY about SALT.

Being insured on the total value of $300 million while being responsible for taxes on $25 million of it's value is entirely possible.

Congress did not catch Nixon.....The Wall Street Journal did. They ran many articles about Nixon's tax issues. Prior to that, Nixon himself asked the Joint Committee on Internal Revenue Taxation (JCT) to review his taxes...and was given a clean bill of health. After the WSJ ran numerous articles on Nixon's taxes, the JCT said they would take another look and said Nixon owed about $500,000 in back taxes.

Were only talking about value. One value he told a bank, another on his financial disclosures. Which one is fake?

Very hard to prove bank fraud. Charges of bank fraud are likely to end up with a plea deal for lying to a federal agency, obstruction, or tax evasion mitigated by willingness to testify against another defendant. The bank doesn't even have to lose a penny. Once the powerful finger of "justice" points your way, you will be guilty of something.

I own a lot of real estate.

I see no way that Trump's claims of value for at least one of his properties could be anything but fraud. Much more importantly, Cohen testified on that.

In these cases Trump was pitching his personal net worth.

It was not like taking out a mortgage on a house or insuring the property that was fraudulently valued. Trump was claiming higher net worth in lobbying for lower cost loans or insurance on other holdings.

The bank and/or insurance company probably did do some investigation, but the fraudulently valued property would have been no more than one line in a large number of lines. It's not surprising to me that they didn't find the fraud or found it and decided not to report the crime.

I'm saying Cohen cooperated with Mueller & SDNY, and both teams of prosecutors saw Cohen's "smoking gun" and investigated. Mueller didn't conclude or allege anything. SDNY might still be investigating. Congress is just posturing.

No, the FBI and the IG investigated Hillary's email issues. Congress did question Comey and others, but they did not investigate the "activity' itself.

yes....at Nixon's request. Not because Congress continued to dig for dirt until they found something.

I’m glad we agree that sometimes these agencies miss stuff.

Of course you don't, you wouldn't see it if it reared up and hit you.

Yes, Cohen has been a very reliable witness, so his testimony is very important. That's why when Cohen offered more information even the Democrats weren't interested.

The article clearly explains that Trump valued his "brand" at 4 billion in answer to it's own question.

If you can show me that Trump took out a loan he didn't pay back, then you have loan application fraud.

Otherwise you just have a loan application.

As part of the testimony from Comey and the IG. They did not say "Let's look at every email Hillary sent....including her personal emails....until we find something".

So you think the bank used something other than his financial disclosures for the loan.

We're back to you thinking banks just need a verbal assessment of value for billionaires.

You do realize that bank/loan fraud requires not paying the loan back yeah? Do you have any evidence Trump didn't pay back a loan, or intended not to?

As I just said to the other poster....

Unless you can show he didn't pay it back, or didn't intend to pay it back, all you have is what's called a "loan application".

No congress is allowed to make jackasses of themselves any time they like. Trump's allowed to contest subpoenas, and crazy Rudy enjoys making Trump haters look like jackasses, so everybody's WINNING! :roflol:
