You mean their Boston Whaler gunboats? Bwa ha ha...yes, we would probably triumph
over those impossible odds. And Trumpsters would have the chaos they long for with a new war.

My English comprehension skills are excellent, and I'll remind you what is incorrect in your post (in red):

Again, the U.S. supported the Afghan mujahideen during the Soviet misadventure in Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden and Abdullah Azzam didn't form AQ until the waning days of that war. The Taliban arrived after the Soviet-Afghan War, as well.

Furthermore, as bin Laden's assassination of Ahmad Shah Massoud and the fighting between the Northern Alliance and the Taliban points out, the Afghan Mujahideen, al Qaeda and the Taliban have never been and never will be one and the same. The premise behind your narrative that " the U.S. thought of the fledgling Al Qaida as"freedom fighters" as long as they were fighting against the USSR yet now that they are fighting against the U.S. Washington thinks of them as "terrorists"" is blatantly inaccurate, ahistorical and false.

Man, you never get anything right, Khrushchev DID back down. The Soviets under supervision of the United States and the United Nations, removed the missiles and their bombers from Russian soil. Go read the actual documents, almost all of them are declassified.

I don't think our friend cares to enlighten us, Pisa.

Perhaps, there is no one "true situation" in the Middle East. Perhaps, there is a kaleidoscope of situations where truth dwells in the eyes of the beholders...

So you do not know what "fledgling" means. What a surprise.

You really don't know **** do you. You have no idea why the USSR put those missiles on Cuba. And have you ever heard of a country called "Turkey"?

Woe betide us poor ignorant souls left in the dark at the mercy of NATO :hiding:

By the way, I didn't know about the "Lion of Panjshir". Thank you for that info.

Yea, we were removing those missiles anyway, they were Jupiter ballistic Missiles. It still doesn't excuse your false comments about Khrushchev backing down. 6 months AFTER the crisis was over, only then and AFTER all of the missiles and bombers were off of Cuban soil, did we transfer missiles out of Turkey.

History revisionists like you are easy to defeat. You have little to no facts to fall back on.

Yeah, sure. And you believe it. I bet Kennedy said that to Krushev and then told him, "Na na na-na na!"

Kruschev called Kennedy's bluff and Johnny boy back down. That's the fact but because you knew nothing about the American missiles in Turkey you now are trying to play the "I know you are but what am I" game. Very pathetic.

    LOL

    You're welcome.

I must confess that it comes as quite a revelation to this poor ignorant soul to find out that the Lion of Panjshir and the rest of Osama bin Laden and Mullah Omar's enemies in the Afghan mujahideen who fought the USSR in the Soviet-Afghan War were "fledgling al Qaeda". I bet they didn't know, either.

Over the last three years, I haven't seen anything but doom and gloom coming from Liberals. And looky here - America is prospering and peace is breaking all over the world. And still they shriek, preparing us for Armageddon. G*d forbid if Trump wins again; we may need to build lots more mental institutions :)

OK, Pisa, I can understand why an Israeli would appreciate AIPAC's quiet successes in extracting American blood & resources but no loyal American would support an alliance that has destroyed so many American lives & been so costly while there is so much need at home.

Why do we give so much economic aid, literally billions, to Pakistan, Sudan, Kenya, Jordan while there is so much need at home? Is Sudan our ally? Pakistan, perhaps?

In other words, you can't refute anything I wrote either & are stuck with snarky personal attacks.

I already asked you to post a link to the NYSun article containing the alleged quote about AIPAC lobbying for war in Iraq. Here's their archive:

Firstly, Israel has extracted $ TRILLIONS, not $ Billions, secondly, those countries haven't attacked & betrayed the US, thirdly, Israel is richer than all those countries, fourthly, those countries don't use US aid for ethnic cleansing & illegal settlements...... shall I go on?

Yea, how exactly did Israel attack and betray the United States? Are you referring to the USS Liberty incident of June, 1967?

    I'll do better than that.

Here are TWO quotes from Israeli lobbyists admitting that AIPAC pushed the US to war with Iraq:

    EXCERPT:
    "AIPAC and Iraq"

It has become relatively fashionable for some members of the Israeli lobby to deny any involvement in the build-up towards the war on Iraq. But few remember what AIPAC executive director Howard Kohr told the New York Sun in January 2003: "Quietly lobbying Congress to approve the use of force in Iraq was one of AIPAC's successes over the past year."

And in a New Yorker profile of Steven Rosen, AIPAC's policy director during the run-up to the war on Iraqi, it was stated that "AIPAC lobbied Congress in favor of the Iraqi war". CONTINUED

There are a number of countries buying Iranian oil that don't need to. Japan for one. China too. We probably can't do much about China but we damn sure can stop Japan buying from terrorists.

We can and should squeeze Iran dry.
