This is a pretty interesting article as it summarizes a book written by some NY Times White House correspondent. The author of the book highlights Obama's frustration with Clinton and the realization his legacy would be toast.

I just might get this book just to see if it contains anything about how the DNC rigged the primary in favor of a seriously flawed and corrupt candidate and what Obama's reaction was to it. That rigged primary is what got Clinton nominated, without it Sanders had a shot and that may have saved some of Obama's legacy.

 

We will hear more of him as the investigation of the origins of the corrupt witch hunt unfolds. Remember Strozek and Page texted each other that 'POTUS wants to know everything we're doing'.

I was up early watching the business reports and good lord man, this economy is singing new songs. Workers are back to work. Wages are going up. Tax revenues are pouring in like from a waterfall.

Why would anybody want to return to the slow economy of Obama?

 

The American people did not turn on him and it wasn't personal. Government overreach has a tipping point and his party found it.

 

Because we all know what happens when an economy over-heats ... it ain't pretty. Slow, steady growth. Given your age, Robert, you should be praying for slow steady growth, not bubbles that lead to collapse. Just remember 2007 - 08.

Here is a good scientific reason my scholarship on that topic beats all Democrats on this forum.

As deeply immersed as I have been with the economy of the USA and indeed other parts of the world, I have seen up close the economy starting seriously around 1967.

How many downturns have I lived through is easy to count and name. I got out of the machine shop business in 1971 due to the then rapid slow down of the economy.

At the time I experienced how bad it was by trying to sell my own home. The home was a 10. The listing period was 3 months. During that time, no buyers came to see the home.

I called on all my shop customers for their projections of the following year. They were morose. Told me to expect to lose 50 percent of the business. I sold all my tooling at the best time. I changed to Real Estate as a common salesperson. I had my eye on being a broker since brokers can own the business. Sales people are relegated to being workers. It took me two years to be a Broker. I also had to obtain the written recommendations for this from several other Brokers for the state to approve me.

I started out both quickly and very slowly. Then the commonplace FHA or VA loan took over 60 days to obtain but in many cases closer to 90 days. I went after listing property. But an unsold listing produced no revenue.

OK, serious downturns, after that downturn of around 1970-72.

We had a disaster in 1980. That I believe is what cost Carter his relecton, not the hostages. We saw interest rates skyrocket from 7 percent to 15 percent. We saw to sell a home new tactics had to be invented. I invented what the industry called the sleeping loan. We do not use it now.

We had another radical downturn in the economy around 1991. Values of homes fell like turds from a horse from then to around 1994. The downturn of 2007 was not due to the Bush policies at all.

Obama had a lot to do with Clinton's loss. People were fed up with his failed policies and Clinton's pledge to continue them sealed her doom.
