You are WHAT?? Oh well at least you are not voting for Katter or Palmer (why does QLD produce so many nuts?)
I'm sure as hell not voting for Scomo or Shorten. I disagree with One Nation on some things, and I wouldn't want them to have a majority government. I just hope an increased ON vote will prompt the Liberals to move right. Plus withdrawing from the Refugee Convention ans gun policy are two of my most important issues.
I don't see why. Who would have thought 30 years ago that the LNP would stage a plebiscite on gay marriage? That the party leader would be saying domestic violence is really just "violence against women"?
Hmmm, I also tried different scenarios and yes you have to wonder ?!?!?! In my case it should have said vote for the Aussie Commu Party, but heck there isn't one. Oh dear..... So I went to cast my vote this morning, and contrary to most of you guys, voted for the Greens. Can't help it, still believe climate is changing and we should do more about it, still think that we are trailing the rest of the first (developed) world when it comes to serious action on climate change. Secondly, as long as we are joining the US in any war, justified or not, we have to take more refugees out of those war zones, especially when we helped to displace these people, this then becomes our responsibility. Thirdly, we need a transition away from coal, and the Greens tick more boxes than others, although not perfect. As many of you right noses might not be aware, but with developing technologies money can be earned and work places created. I regard our universities among the best, but not quite the best, we need more money for education, innovation and hightec development. Now come on you rightish yesteryears, give it to me.... Reg.
Bingo! Of course it's propaganda. The other side do the same with theirs. Any such test predicated on 'preferred questions' (carefully chosen with a certain end in mind, obviously) will be asked, is necessarily going to be biased. An unbiased compass would need to ask VERY GENERIC and universal Left/Right questions.
Really??? I have to wonder just how people seriously consider such as a serious indication political direction. I often criticise others for not thinking for themselves and along comes this type of crap. "Wow, I am undecided on who has policy I agree with, so I must go to a survey that will organize my answers based upon an algorithm of somebody else’s making that is based the ideals of the people who created the algorithm"… Just like taking a survey of “is he really into you” from Woman’s Day and deciding that the results are what to live by, this is finest tabloid media by a public owned media organisation ever. Sure it appears to be fun but the apparent emphasis put to this and the push from the ABC should be distressing. I think it should be troubling to all, this tabloid journalism. Often the talk is about funding to the ABC and the unbiased reporting that is supposedly presented and yet this stupendous waste of public funds to offer some sort of ideal of who supports what is presented as serious and that people will be surprised at where their support lays. Honestly, you should be outraged about this clear unadulterated spending to try tell you, you don’t know what you’re talking about or supporting. Celebrating tabloid press, one really has to wonder what the people of this nation are really intelligent enough to feed themselves, let alone decide who should represent them…
I doubt that anyone who takes these things is 'undecided'. They're merely a proselytising tool. Or a dose of confirmation bias right before an election, etc.
I'm a fan of taxes, but when it funds any institution even remotely engaged in bias, the Commie Activist in me takes over. That is NOT equality.
I actually think mine is fairly accurate, tis why I'm still an undecided voter.. left on some issues, right on others.
I love the fact it states I am similarly agreement of 50% with ALP and One nation... since they lay so far apart, I certainly wonder just how that can be...
From the test it appeared to me that they took policies of each party and made an assessment based on your reply, therefore you agreed with 50% ALP policies and 50% One Nation, the critical part you need to ascertain, is which polices are most important to you.. those aligning with One Nation or those aligning with the ALP. Now if I were to guess your 50% are basically 50% in accordance with One Nation on Migration issues the ALP 50% are either fiscal/economical or environment, which of these are most important to you? and can the Liberals bridge this gap for you? (Rhetorical question no answer required)
Let's look at some lies. The COALition is raving on about how the franked shares policy of the ALP is ... Going to be a tax on retirees. Going to be a tax on a tax. People will be paying more tax. https://www.alp.org.au/other/dividend-imputation-credits/
Umm your ascension of immigration to economic is way out. I found that they placed me almost at the centre of the entire spectrum. I would place majority of my concern for the poor IN Australia. Other than my complete distain for a party to promote and support a leader who clearly want to destroy every policy to address failings in the nation while providing nothing himself I will never vote ALP while he has any influence. Greens pretend they are for the people while truth is they want to force poor to pay for their ideals. Often, I have pointed out the only party to make clear reductions on environmental issues was the Coalition while all the others want to mitigate it and call it reductions. The fact is the truth is clouded when these politician keep lying about their support. The fact of the matter is that I still cannot find a party who will address the issues of the poor in Australia. Just check the mung bean above who wants to post ALP propaganda as evidence of policy and complain of being misrepresented. So far they demonstrate they don’t know what negative gearing is but it must be unfair, clearly they don’t know what capital gains tax is, BUT it must be unfair… Meanwhile radio, TV and internet is barraged with adds to sponsor a child in Australia 10 times an hour… Talk about priorities, the poor don’t seem to matter with these people… As far as I can see, the Coalition is the least damaging to the poor. Since none want to address the issue, at least we can stave off the damage till somebody will.
Lay off the tinfoil hats guys. Here's me : It clearly makes the distinction between social values and economics, as it should. So to get One Nation just choose all the socially conservative / nationalist answers and say whatever you want on economics/environment (I'm very centrist on that stuff so that was natural for me). I think it's pretty funny that all I did was state that affirmative action should be illegal in all its forms and immediately I get the "far right" party. It's not like I was asked anything that the actual far right believes (you know, the people who believe in racial superiority, deny the Holocaust, want an authoritarian state, think women shoudn't vote etc). I'm no Australian, but seeing the issues, ON doesn't look very far right to me, just reactionary to social progressives.
Exempting a bunch of groups Labor wants to pander to for electoral purposes doesn't make it a good policy.
No, pensioners are exempt. Not the same thing. You are correct about the lies. Removing the government payment is not raising a tax, it is removing a welfare payment that overwhelmingly goes to people whose income & assets are so high that they would not get any other sort of welfare. It is pretty blatant, which is one of the reasons the ALP has been prepared to take it on.
When you finish the questions it puts up a big logo of the ALP and asks if you are likely to vote for them in small print, then the Greens, etc. 3 out of the 4 people who did the test thought this was their result. When you click through 10 pages of bullshit you get a graph.
