yes, your agreeing with me... I have dealt with people like you in the workplace too over my many years, even when they agree they have to act like they are right and you are wrong.... ? "If you are so damned paranoid, I suggest you just stop using the Internet period. Cut all the cords, return to POTS and FTA television, throw away your cell phone and all your computers. Because as before most of what you are saying is paranoia nonsense that has nothing to do with anything you are saying." I prefer to use https vs http for things like bank transactions... does that make me paranoid? no.. just smart.. using encryption is good... don't you agree and yes, notice I said it makes it "harder" for the ISP and "helps prevent", never said impossible... I think we both know anything is possible... someone once claimed the titanic was unsinkable
I was also against this, I do not think government mandated backdoors to all encryption software sold in the USA is a good idea, do you? "Why government-mandated encryption backdoors are bad for US businesses" https://www.techrepublic.com/articl...cryption-backdoors-are-bad-for-us-businesses/
But do you use it properly? Do you even verify that the certificate is valid and belongs to the right organization? Do you ensure that you even connect to the right location? If not, you have given yourself a false sense of security. You might as well lock all your doors, while leaving the windows open. Enjoy your false sense of security. https://www.digitaltrends.com/compu...browser-security-warning-in-phishing-attacks/
unless it's my own server on my home network and I know why it's showing invalid, of course I do (when needed of course, not everything needs to be over a secured connection, some sites I visit are still http or a self signed cert, such as this one, though woudl be nice it it did) woudl never visit a bank or a place that requires personal information with a invalid cert I also use vpn back to my home network when using other peoples networks... I take security seriously as too much identity theft out there
You go through the hassle of using either 90 day free or pay for X.509 certificates for your home network?
did I say that? I use self signed certs in my home network for things like my nas, they are not open to the outside network, I use vpn if I need to access them from outside my network you seem to be changing the topic of our discussion
apple does the same sh*t... difference being with google you can control what's saved/logged and what isn't... can't say the same about apple
It's not a matter of 'poor', dear George. Your life can, and will, be used against you in a multitude of ways. Health, religion or lack thereof, possessions, demographics, age; you have become a target in the game of information.
not a question of backing down, rather one of giving yourself up (outing oneself)... anywho, if you're gonna be a 'rat', may as well start with gnawing on yourself
ancient <place your own descriptive here> proverb say, don't volunteer information that can't be found otherwise
but someone can twist things, especially those, well i shouldn't say because they're supposed to be on your side...
I fear no evil either, but some bottom dwellers can make life unpleasant. Pretty much anything can be dealt with, it's just that we should have to.
