https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-48571291 This is the first time I've ever considered backing anyone who isn't Boris Johnson for leader of the Conservatives to replace the PM. I mean, I'm not entirely sold on Micheal Gove over Boris Johnson, but, this is a step in the right direction.
I heard that Michael Gove wishes to abolish VAT and replace it with a Sales Tax instead... He's lost my vote.
excellent...."scrap" VAT...well at least the name anyway and guess what....it'll be called something else as they will still need the money....so let's scrap VAT and call it AVT instead... ah...but no...hold the phone Doris..... let's just look to replace it so in fact lets not actually do anything lets's just look as thought we're doing something/anything. Triff weeze if you can con the numpties with meaningless words, I'm guessing that when asked in a few years about his promises that he'd say sommat like "well Andrew...as you know we did an extensive study and consulted with all the stakeholders involved and....well...you know....upon closer inspection of the facts it just wasn't actually possible to lower or simplify the tax system at this time" because it would cost too much money and we need the cash. Job done punters conned....next sucker please...
I did also think it was a bit suspicious in that he said that the replacement would help business, suggesting that the public would be paying a higher amount if he wants to get the same amount of money although he did claim it would be lower
its just so much bull....I mean I don't know about you but I've heard so many politicians from all stripes utter the meaningless phrase.... and guess what....nothing ever happens....staggering...I mean how devoid of intelligence do these prats think we are????
@The Scotsman I created this thread back when I thought Gove was pushing for scrap VAT. Then I found out he meant to replace it, which, was like when under David Cameron, Croydon demolished town tall and built a brand spanking new one, and..... Didn't have to. Like, Change for Change sake. An element like David Cameron, I loathe in the Conservative Party.
