Not a chance. Give an inch today, give another inch tomorrow, a foot next week, a yard next month, until some day, its all gone. There's no reason to give a thing because there's no chance of getting anything in return. Molon Labe.
I know you're upset that reality does not line up with your rhetoric, but there's nothing I can do about that.
No I don't want the status quo, I want all gun bans rolled back and banned from being ever brought forth again. And anti-gunners prosecuted for violating the civil rights of law abiding gun owners.
If you think that my response is an agreement, then you also believe in the fairy godmother. Let's not forget that these countries help fight our wars or did and that is changing for the reasons given. We also have trade agreements and share intelligence.
We don't know because our gun ownership laws are as they are. Of course, they can't enforce the laws as they are.
Incorrect we do know the basic gun laws we have will work when enforced, something I guess you never studied or ignored because it doesn't support your anti-gun narrative. I was tried in project Exile and that enforcement combined with incarceration reduced criminal misuse of guns by 22% per year. https://www.crimesolutions.gov/ProgramDetails.aspx?ID=413 Program Summary A crime reduction strategy in Richmond, Virginia implemented to deter former and would-be offenders from carrying and using firearms, with an overall goal of reducing firearm-related homicides. The project is rated Promising. Firearm-related homicides decreased significantly in the target area, compared with other U.S. cities where the program was not implemented. Study 1 Firearm Homicide Rates, Project Exile Rosenfeld and colleagues (2005) found a statistically significant intervention effect for Project Exile. Firearm homicides in Richmond exhibited a 22 percent yearly decline, compared with the average reduction of about 10 percent per year for other large U.S. cities. The difference is statistically significant. In other word without any gun bans, just enforcing the existing laws of which there are more than enough and without infringing on any rights of the law abiding gun crimes where greatly reduced year over year. https://www.crimesolutions.gov/ProgramDetails.aspx?ID=413 Sadly liberals, many of whom are anti-gunners, do not like enforcing laws that effect criminals, because their rather sick goal is to disarm the law abiding so every is equal when it comes to being a victim.
Nah, liberals don't think that way at all. Nobody does. They are just trying to find a way to reduce gun violence and enact requirements that must be met before gun ownership.
Totally false, you have been presented with evidence that enforcing the existing laws works and no new laws or restrictions are needed yet you cling to the anti-gun mantra that more restrictions are needed even though many of what you recommended already exist which is clear evidence all your true goal is to tramp upon the rights of the law abiding. Furthermore by admitting the problem is not guns, but the people who misuse guns only reinforces you care nothing about reducing gun violence. You have, in just a few short posts, peeled back the curtain of your true intents for the world to see.
You don't know how to reduce gun violence either. Of course the problem is people, duh? Unfortunately, the good guy is always affected by rules enacted because the bad guys did the dirty. You can't just make rules that only affect the bad guys, yes? How are the rules really going to affect law-abiding gun owners anyway? Very little. You act like the child who throws a wussy fit because he thinks that mommy will take away his blankie that he thinks he needs to suck his thumb. By the way, I am thinking of buying a pistol for protection. Any recommendations?
The problem is and had you taken a half hour or so to research it right here in this forum, you would have discovered everything you have proposed is either codified in existing law, had been proven beyond a reasonable doubt to not work, or is so impractical, it would have no effect on the criminal misuse of guns, while unduly infringing on the rights of the law abiding, or worse, put innocent people at greater risk of being harmed by criminals. While you might feel you have some really bright ideas, the reality is you have brought nothing new to the Political Forum table, all you have done is regurgitate well known and widely disputed Bloomberg talking points. Now maybe try sitting back and come up with some ideas of your own, if that is possible, but remember to do so you will need to do a lot more studying of the issue than what it appears you have done, at least then maybe you will not repeat some of the downright silly ideas of requesting laws that already exist, a 4 out of 5 score, which had you bothered to read a 4473, you would have discovered prior to posting such foolishness.
I most certainly do and have already posted proof of such, now you can choose to ignore it at your own peril. Then why are you still going after the tool not the fool? And very little is too much, when the same rules will have no effect on the criminal use of guns. Reflecting much. Yes turn off the TV, get a lot of training and understand the laws that exist before buying one.
