I Once Loved the Fourth of July.

It's time to build a wall and deport some anti-Americans in Texas.

Have you considered charging Trump for the space he's occupying against your will inside your head? I loathed nation-hating and endlessly race agitating and warmongering Barack Obama, but even during those eight years of living hell I quite enjoyed the Fourth of July.

 

Your particular "American" values aren't values at all. You celebrate a serial philanderer and known liar. When did that become American values?
You voted for a man who who paid off porn stars for sex while his wife took care of his newborn son. When did those become American values?
You celebrate a cult of personality above the national interests. When did that become an American value?

No - I won''t be watching a speech that will try to glorify the individual President rather than the American people. I'll be sitting on my deck watching a thousand fireworks shows from the people who fought for this country - not some draft dodger and philanderer.

 

Republicans are fracturing under the weight of a very disturbed man. Trump's legacy is firmly imprinted [like a brand] on the Republican party.

It isn't Trump that moved you away from liking the fourth of July, it's your progressive ideology that moved you away from it; but being too intellectually dishonest to admit it, you blame Trump instead.

Similar to Texas Republican, I don't celebrate it anymore either, not because of Trump, but because the progressive left has so despoiled and demeaned everything that once was patriotic and celebratory.

I've been around for almost 60 years, and so little of day to day life in this country has changed that to run around pulling your hair and crying "end of the world" is just pathetic hyperbole ... we still go to work, go to school, screw, flirt, drink, drive cars, bitch about politicians, take the kids to parks... the whole nine yards.

I got the goosebumps and loved the whole patriotism thing, until 9/11 was used to pass laws undermining my civil liberties, marginalize and demean people of the Muslim faith, and worst of all - justify and normalize rendition and torture. No more. This country has no greater moral compass than any tin-pot dictator, communist council of Commissars or theocratic ruler. I feel more shame than pride now and Donald Trump made it worse.

 

Hey back to you, when the parade starts and your phone doesn't ring, you will know it is me. Nobody is forcing you to be patriotic. You are fully welcome not to drown out the happiness of watching kids faces smile when they see fireworks while dressed up in red white and blue. That's why they created safe spaces and therapy bears for lefties who can't cope with joy. Have a great 3rd and 5th and let the rest of us celebrate.

 

I figure it's a day to remember why our forefathers fought. They sure the hell wouldn't fight for what it's become, but that's not the point.

Neither the 4th of July or the flag has meant anything to me since trump got elected. Only in recent months have I been able to look at a flag without feeling ill. But it is still meaningless. In fact worst than that, the meaning has been replaced by disdain and sadness. Now it just makes me think of how trump and his supporters have destroyed a once great nation.

Support the right of secession. End the nightmare. End this sad joke of a nation.

I don't dislike the fourth of July, I dislike that Trump has decided to arrest control of fourth of July celebrations from Mom and Pop Americans by ascending the National stage to paint himself in glory.

Trump is a divisive wrecking ball. I'm sure his like minded base will salivate for days over the prospects of how Trump will tell those &$%@# Liberals and Progressives to go to hell.

As for me, I will fire up the grill, pop a beer and forego the TV to enjoy the family. As for the Trumpets here, you have every right to express your opinions, have at it.

 

Cant stand the guy either. BUT !!! it isnt his fault. It is the CB, FED, big business CEO, Board of directors, both sides of polticians, and Koch Brother types that have deleted the American way. Which was to help others do better, we cut the rich tax in 1984, from that date we have gone backwards. Once a really rich guy can keep every dime, he uses it to leverage more. Why the standard of living has fallen so far.
This in turn allowed others to come into country, work cheaper driving down wages. Then they were allowed, mostly promo by the right wing to send jobs to China. Now, one of them wants the jobs to all come back. what happened to "It is their company and if they want to go to china, so be it, will help our people by giving them cheaper goods" So much of this was all to help the rich gain control. Now, they have, Xionists ! They own and control it all and the best an American can do is survive. It will take another Generation before a revolution hits, people will starve first.
Dont look for things to get better, expect much much worse. Trump saying the economy is good is a gigantic LIE supported by the Jewish Media. They control the narrative, thus, if you fail, your fault ! ???? hat isnt true, but how they keep you from complaining. All Propaganda to control the people. The Market is nothing more than a number that some corp.s are making money. When you buy back your own stock, you make the company more profitable.

Not a thing I do on the Fourth of July has a thing to do with Trump. Our family will get together. We will set off a few fireworks. I personally won't. However, I will enjoy watching them. We might even watch a parade or two. I will visit a few graves and put on a few flowers and maybe clean them up a bit. Trump and democrats will be the last thing I will think about. We have a great nation. I will appreciate living here.

 

We dont have a GREAT Nation anymore. Maybe in your little world, not bashing it, but overall people are struggling. Maybe you choose to ignore what is out there. That too is OK, not everyone has the time or caring to think of others. To stop Tyranny, big business taking all of the money and so on.
I know many families that are doing great, I know the opposite too. My choice is too see the big picture and care.
