With the very few exceptions of people that are hard core life begins at birth zealots the other 99% of pro choice people at some point switch over to pro lifers. The vast majority think life begins and abortion on demand is not acceptable sometime in between conception and delivery with the only argument being exactly when that is so in reality we are all pro life and the pro choice movement is largely an illusion. Just something to consider in both sides because conversely much of the pro life movement is pro choice up to a certain point in pregnancy but they tend to draw that line earlier than so called pro choicers. Actually we are all on the same team here.
Stats? Figures? Facts? Proof? Ya, I agree , life begins. No argument. Abortion on demand ends at viability...that concession was a sop to Anti-Choicers. It is meaningless however, ( let me know when I'm using too many words) because women do not "enjoy" 6 months of pregnancy just for the "fun" of having an abortion for no reason. No, in reality the majority of Americans want abortion to remain legal.... Oh? Then try to take away women's right to their own body and see how much of an "illusion" it is.. So far this "illusion" has kept abortion legal NO, emphatically we are NOT. I believe every American citizen should have the same right, the right to one's own body as all other American citizens...Anti-Choicers do not.
I will correct my own OP and my guess on the 99% number. It's bigger than that but still a fraction of the general population "8% think that life only begins at the moment of birth." https://www.lifenews.com/2015/04/08...-are-people-52-say-life-begins-at-conception/ The other 92% at some point become pro life anti abortion people.
Anti-Choicer's Excuse for Not Addressing/Facing Posts: Excuse No. 9 : """ I believe it's already established that you are one of the extreme zealots I was speaking of so this thread really doesn't concern you."" Translated: "I hate facts".
OH, LIFENEWS...!!! Hilarious , a totally Anti-Choice, Anti-women's rights biased website whose "stories" have been blown apart and debunked so many times it's called LIENEWS....
If you have an alternate source showing a larger percentage of people believing life only begins after birth feel free to share it.
I am NOT the one making the claim, that would be YOU...so YOU have to show proof...substantiation, stats, something besides the droolings of an Anti-Choice site like LIENEWS... I believe life started millions of years ago.....and have never seen anyone say life doesn't start until birth.....can't imagine where you got that idea...
"Pro-life" is a misnomer. It should be "pro-fetus", cause as soon as that fetus leaves the womb, pro-lifers don't care if they live or die. If they did, they would spend every dime they wasted on anti-abortion laws to improve hospital maternity wards and add incubators to rural hospitals to keep babies alive. They don't. Pro-choice people are ALWAYS pro-life. They are pro-life of the mother and the children they decide to bring to term.
Kind of dodged the point of the OP didn't you. At some point during pregnancy 92% of people are against abortion which in the context of the abortion debate puts them squarely on the pro life side of the debate.
And 92% are FOR abortion at all times if it endangers the life of the mother. Which squarely puts them on the pro-choice side.
Indeed it does in those rare instances. As for normal pregnancy 92% at some point become anti abortion.
At some point before birth 92% of all people become anti abortion. That's just fact proven by the facts that I have sourced and you are just starting to seem like your trolling now so I will consider our conversation over for the time being and get on with my real life Sunday. Enjoy your Sunday too.
You started this thread with the intent of trolling anti-abortionists ... don't know why you suddenly don't want to play a game you started. Whatever.
A zygote is the beginning of life...no one disputes that. An acorn is the beginning of a tree. If removed or not planted both of them will end at that phase. You seem to be confusing the beginning of a potential life with an actual life. 99.9% know a zygote is not a life
> Pro choice people eventually become pro life Not that I've ever seen....except that one time from the SCOTUS woman.
Apparently you are in the 8% that believes abortion up until birth is fine and it's a zygote not a baby up until that point. You say it's life but you give it no more respect than a cancerous tumor that is also technically life. 92% of us believe it becomes life as in a living baby sometime between conception and birth.
I started this thread to point out the fact that the vast majority of pro choice people become anti abortion at some point during pregnancy. That fact may annoy you but it's one of those "inconvenient truths" you need to face if you want to be honest with yourself and others.
Try Guttmacher It is pro choice but even pro life sites use thier statistics World wide there is a move to liberalise abortion laws. Two more notable ones are Ireland and here in Queensland Aus. If people changed thier mids to become pro-life then these laws would not be changing Then there is this from Pew
