Those are NOT the only two categories upon which abortions are based. Several states have already passed laws making abortion a crime punishable by imprisonment. Extremist Pro-Life supporters are already calling for laws that make abortion (or possibly miscarriage) equivalent to murder. Do you understand what a negative impact such laws would have on our innocent daughters, wives, girlfriends? Our country would become members of those nations in history known for their cruelty to their own people. That's NOT the future I want for this country--or its women.
If your daughter or your wife were raped & became pregnant, would you want either of them to carry their rapist's fetus to term?
What kind of "loving" husband or father would tolerate their wife or daughter being raped, then insist they carry their rapist's child to term? If I were your wife, I'd get an immediate divorce right along with an abortion. If I were your daughter, I'd disown you & get an abortion.
Well that's your position, but I know of two situations where the female totally rejected the idea of an abortion and in both cases carried the child to term. Second of all I would never tolerate my wife or daughter being raped, but the reality is, after the fact I have no power to undo the crime, all I can do is provide support and an abortion for many is not support, it just piles more problems upon an existing problem. In the first case, I technically raped the female, I was 19 and she was 17, it was consensual sex, but she was underage so it was rape, we considered an abortion, but she steadfastly refused to go there, we never married and broke up a few years later, none the less I paid her expenses as best as I could to raise that child to maturity at 18 years old and then beyond as much as I could possibly do. As a result of that I have a excellent son who is now doing rather well and has his own family. But I guess in your mind he should have been aborted, which is very sad and clearly not caring about life on your part. In the second case a friends daughter was raped by two men, she also refused to get an abortion and carried to term, her parents where very supporting of her decision. I seriously believe you totally fail to understand the maternal instincts of females, yes by being raped they where impregnated against their will, but they don't want to pile on top of that horrible experience the guilt of knowing they killed their unborn child.
The good part of you post here is that both women were given a CHOICE. As a Pro-Choice supporter, I'm happy with their decision, whatever it was, simply because THEY made it. It wasn't inflicted upon them by someone else against their will. As a Pro-Choice (choice = freedom), I'm not Pro-Abortion. I just support the mother's right to decide these important, personal issues because it's her body that was impregnated.
No because gridlock in congress is one of the few things that reduces a loss of freedom and wealth. I support a daily golf tournament for the members of congress. That way we will have gridlock with less noise.
I don't have a party. If the parties involved cannot find a way to work together then they should go their separate ways voluntarily before it happens by force.
I don't think either party wants to destroy the country. One is more about change that the other, this is true. Change is inevitable. If 2 party's can't work together better to get a divorce before the situation gets ugly.
Working together to create actually equitable political compromises regarding necessary legislation? Yes that would be excellent. It is even possible for that to happen after Trump wins re-election because then the Left will realize that it only has to wait four more years after that before they will regain the presidency. I mean the odds of another GOPer winning the office immediately after Trump would be astronomical. Also the Right will then be more comfortable offering to compromise with the Left after Trump's re-election. But that's just speculation. Time will tell.
