Antifa attacks in Portland

Have any of the defenders of Neo Nazis and the Proud Boys explained yet what the Proud Boys were doing in Portland?

Or what they stand for?

What their "speech" is?

 

Antifa literally started out as a Punk Rock movement in Germany in the 80's. There were several Neo-Nazi gangs committing attacks in West Berlin, and the local Punk Rock movement began forming up gangs to defend communitiies. .

 

Here's some stuff I'm finding about the "proud" boys. They sound like a bunch of complete losers.

The Proud Boys, one of the stranger and more pathetic branches of the alt-right, are having a crisis of leadership. Following the weird, stunt-like departure of their leader, Vice Media co-founder Gavin McInnes, the Proud Boys have been busy frantically trying to figure out who gets to be the boss of the so-called “Western chauvinist organization” and tell everyone else how many times they get to masturbate each month.
Official leadership, at least as far as the vaguely administrative wing of the group and its website goes, seems to have fallen to an “Elders Chapter,” who, in conjunction with an extremely racist lawyer named Jason Lee Van Dyke, released a new set of bylaws for the organization, which they provided to the media “with member names and exhibits redacted for public release.”
The new bylaws are more of the same weird Proud Boy ****, with some changes: no head punches on their weird beat-in ritual where they sock each other while chanting cereal brands; you can only jerk off once per month; and some new rulings on the “fourth degree of initiation,” which involves getting in a fight on behalf of the club and is usually achieved during ****-stirring brawls like the one outside the Metropolitan Republican Club in NYC last month, which got several Proud Boys arrested, contributing to the leadership chaos.

 

I didnt see anyone defending "proud boys" I have seen many many leftists defending antifa, some even to the point of saying they should go further.

 

Translation: Still defending violent Antifa that starts fights.

 

Then perhaps the best course of action available to yourself is to refrain from presenting claims that cannot actually be substantiated with evidence when queried.

Funny, I see people in effect obviously defending the proud boys, neo-Nazis, etc., but they don't seem to have the courage to come out and say it.

I don't support Antifa.

The whole fighting thing between these groups seems really stupid and pointless.

But it seems strange that people are acting as if the Proud Boys are just some innocent kids who are being attacked for no reason.

Especially considering the violence they've been involved with over and over, and the sentences and the FBI considering them an extremist group.

They seem like stupid scumbags.

 

I don't think violence has any place in political discourse. I very much believe in the right of people to assemble and protest. The more vulgar the protest, the more it highlights how great our freedoms are.

Believing someone has a right to protest does not mean I agree with them though.

 

And yet it is antifa as an organization that is actively working to hide its identity from the public, as members show up with their faces concealed in a public venue, in clear violation of established laws relating to the concealing of identity.

 

Well what are they protesting?

I have no clue, I wasnt there. I do know that antifa has a very long history of inciting violence.
