Trump, the gop and fascism. Article by Dr. Lawrence Britt 1. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights – Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of “need.” The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc. 2. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause – The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc. 3. Supremacy of the Military – Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized. 4. Rampant Sexism – The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Divorce, abortion and homosexuality are suppressed and the state is represented as the ultimate guardian of the family institution. 5. Controlled Mass Media – Sometimes to media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common. 6. Obsession with National Security – Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses. 7. Religion and Government are Intertwined – Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government’s policies or actions. 8. Corporate Power is Protected – The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite. 9. Labor Power is Suppressed – Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed. 10. Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts – Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts and letters is openly attacked. 11. Obsession with Crime and Punishment – Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations. 12. Rampant Cronyism and Corruption – Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders. 13. Manipulate & Control elections – Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate & control elections.
And you don’t see what Trump is trying to do ? Faux wiper blades ? Trump figures if Putin can become rich by raping his country, Trump can do the same.
No the wimpy little nothing of a country biting off more than it can chew. I wish it's people were free.
Of all the blatant lies, falsehoods, propaganda and hypocritical things that are regularly said about Iran by people of your ilk and the motley crew who help fan those falsehoods for their own reasons, and in the midst of all the sheer ignorance that exists about Iran even among those without an agenda but who have been exposed to the propaganda for too long, the part of your statement I bolded (and only that part) sounds a legitimate issue and might be proven true. Not that even this is a forgone conclusion, because contrary to your assertion, Iran is neither little, nor wimpy and far from being a "nothing country", is actually quite a lot on almost all levels.
Well militarily all we need to worry about is their airforce and their air defense systems. Their airforce is nothing at all.. and f35s have shown they can operate against the worlds most sophisticated air defense with pretty much impunity. Their army is irrelevant because we'd never need to engsge it. Their tanks and vehicles would be destroyed from the air along with their ballistic missile capability. Their army would be formidable but we don't need to engage it so it's irrelevant. Militarily they are very weak. In terms of freedom.. https://freedomhouse.org/report/freedom-world/2018/iran
Iran is no match for the US in the conventional military sense. Its strength lies elsewhere, in the asymmetrical tactics and the kind of weapons it has to compensate for its weaknesses. And in the fact that Iran's tentacles spread wide and geography is its friend in any conflict with the US. But the military issues aside, everything else you say or cite about Iran is ultimately a grotesque lie.
I'll interpret that as if we respond to Iranian agression and destroy your military you'll send terrorists all over the world to kill Americans. That's not Asymmetric warfare thats just terrorism. Iran has no military hardware to compensate for it's weakness. All it has is terrorism. Which is weak and cowardly even when successful. Ehh everthing i said about Iran is true. The people are not free. If they were free they wouldn't be arrested when they demonstrate. Women would be free to wear the clothes they want. Opposition political parties would be accepted not silenced by the government. And only acceptable candidates allowed to participate in elections.. Yeah iran sucks, the government that is. I think some bacon would help. Bacon makes everything better.
1- The purpose of an air force is to dominate the skies to be able to deliver bombs on your enemy while preventing it from delivering those bombs on your forces. Iran's air force is no match for the US, so Iran has instead invested heavily in developing one of the largest missile forces in the world. Those missiles come pretty much in all shapes and sizes and give Iran the tools to deliver a good punch against its enemies, delivering bombs with reasonable accuracy and precision and payload, while Iran's air defense missiles are sufficiently capable to give some cover to Iran's own forces. In this mix, Iran also has one of the strongest and most capable drone (UAV/UAS) forces in the world as well. As for the US destroying them, that is not going to be an easy task by any means. During desert storm, despite the US assembling a huge air armada and running more sorties than during WWII, it couldn't even take out Saddam's punny Scuds which because of their limited range had to be fired from a very confined and small area using liquid fuel which makes launch times much longer and far easier to detect. Nor was Israel able to deal with Hezbollah's rocket and missiles during the 2006 war... As for naval battles, the ability of Iran's navy to inflict serious damage to the US navy using its "swarming tactics", was something the US has realized ever since its Millennium Challenge 2002 war games. Iran has exactly the kind of weapons and forces for such a battle, with a huge submarine fleet composed mainly of small subs for the confined waters of the Persian Gulf, a huge fleet of fast attack boats for swarming operations, and anti ship missiles that can take out eve US aircraft carriers. The tactical dynamics of a naval battle between Iran and the US are quite similar, ironically to the ancient Battle of Salamis during the Greco-Persian wars, where a huge Persian naval armada was defeated by the much smaller but nimbler Greek naval forces in the narrow and confined strait of Salamis. 2- You can ascribe any labels to the tactics Iran will employ. It reminds me of how the Romans viewed the tactics by Iran under the Parthians. In this regard, I invite you to learn a little about the Battle of Carhae since many of the similarities will prove uncanny. https://www.historynet.com/roman-persian-wars-battle-of-carrhae.htm Roman-Persian Wars: Battle of Carrhae Rome was led at the time by a version of Trump: Like now, Rome didn't care about previous treaties negotiated and imagined they could take over Iran's realm by their sheer might. Not a good ending for the Roman leader personally, never mind his troops who were all slaughtered. He was killed attempting to negotiate terms of his surrender.
Trump is under no obligation to explain a damn thing to you. You would rather they have guns than us. You are not a fan of DGU
