So in effect, you are disarmed. Even IF you jumped thru all the hoops as a supplicating subject, you STILL could not effectively use 'your' gun for self defense. Your last sentence is laughably arrogant. Who elected you spokesman of the planet? "Who cares"? Those who cherish being free men with rights, those who were NOT a victim or statistic BECAUSE they had a gun without umpteen infringements. But we already know, you could not give a koala's bowel movement about such folks. The subjects will sneer at the freemen and vehemently defend their subjectgation.
Some smart guy, a long time ago, said something along these lines: "Those who would trade their freedoms for safety, deserve neither". The beauty of the truth, is that time will never change it.
yep, and I am not a gun expert, so I will leave that to the experts I have never owned a gun, never will, but I support the right of people to own guns cause it makes me safer as criminals do not know I do not own a gun or not
I have already explained this notion to you and you ignore it. You live permanently in fear of being shot, and your response is....I'll carry a gun. I do not live in any fear, and I carry no gun. Spot the difference? Why are you in fear of, or being prepared for, being shot at, and I'm not? I reckon even you will work that out. I don't see it as being a free man to live continually in such fear, or state of preparedness at all. I say you are caged by guns. I am not.
Nope, you stated you would not support a handgun ban and it 'would never happen here' and then when an equivalent handgun, that what was it you said "that most consider a handgun' or something along those lines, was presented; you kinda wentall AOC with the 'i'm not an expert'...lol Admit it, you'd just as soon see semi auto pistols, banned. And no 'we dont agree'. Save your strawmen
s That is a misquote but I know what you are referring to. Have a read: https://www.npr.org/2015/03/02/3902...safety-quote-lost-its-context-in-21st-century And in any event, I am no fan of deifying blokes like Franklin and grabbing whatever came out of their mouth as Holy Writ. He was a man, the bloke who was there at a vital time. The Man for the day. That does mean every word he ever uttered is beyond question or being dismissed.
How many strawmen can you cram in one post? I never said any such rubbish, ALL YOUR WORDS QUIT TRYING TO MAKE THEM MINE, IT'S VERY DISHONEST. I shot my gun the other day for the first time in over 2 years, this also means it was the first time i carried it, in over two years. My gun weighs about 4 pounds unloaded, with a ft long barrel. Feel free to look it up, 1858 New Model Army, Buffalo model. Only other gun I own is a similar repro. But I bet you cant even own them, even after groveling for 'permission'.
Notice I said 'something along these lines'? Your opinion of our Founding fathers is as relevant as your opinion on our arms OZ was founded as a penal colony, so having no freedom and restricted 'rights' is in keeping with their heritage.
That's a great question, I think the answer is as many as it takes to try and justify their (Australia) gun laws. They don't want to believe that they made a mistake in restricting gun ownership like they did. So they have to make straw man fallacies. That's why some of the Aussies rage against America with regard to gun rights. They want us to lose our rights too. Misery loves company.
That was the thing you carried on your bike? I suspect the calibre is .44 and that would make it outside the reach of the ordinary Aussie. It looks nifty. I'd like to have one for conversation purpose but nothing else. There was no strawman. I was directly addressing your post. That you have to resort to crying 'strawman' when there is none, is a give-a-way. Anyway, let's have a beer.
Trite. Hackneyed. Cute, and horseshit. Australians do not get slaughtered en masse at 'garlic festivals.'
I am having a beer, just not that type. And yes, you posted several strawmen. I dont actually carry it 'on the bike' but rather in a small backpack or in a military fliers helmet bag, i use as a modified saddle bag. Yes, it is .44. Even cast my own round lead ball in a Lyman .451 mold, 135 gr It's rather old school. I'm an odd bird. See if I can find a pic of my self made bike...
It sure was....back in 1788. A few waters have flown under the bridge since then, you know. We got rid of the Brits (other than ceremonially/constitutionally) way back and no-one got shot. We have a Federation and it was formed without one dead body. How'd 'you' blokes go?
I was just getting ready to repost because I realized you would go there. That happened around 15 years ago. So no, it was not, it was a cannodale mountainbike and the gun was a semi auto, Ruger 22 pistol I built that bike about 3 years ago. I have built several. I own two high end mountainbikes but rarely ride them. Life is to short to ride painful bikes. In the market for a nice mountain bike? 30% of new retail, excellant condition.
That's a 'plinker.' I have used one at a range here. Got carried away with the semi-auto function so accuracy was not great. Clapped out Club S&W .22 revolver, I did much better..range is 25 yards.
All I can say to that is we got where we are as a nation today by leaving it to the experts. They arent doing a very good job. Its time you became an expert, lest how will you know if the 'experts' are competent and honest? Knowledge is power
Sure. And you I want to believe that's because you have strict gun control. It has nothing to do with the fact that you live a very unpopulated island secluded in the middle of the ocean. It has nothing to do with the fact that there is only one culture in Australia. It's all your gun laws. Right.
