very little sugar, they do not eat a diet of 60% carb, they eat meats and good fats, they balance it - as long as your not eating more carbs then your body can store you will do ok, you can store about 2000 calories in the liver and muscles total (about 100 or so grams of glycogen), the problem in America is High Carbs\Sugars - and yes refined carbs make it worse as do seed oils and of course once you are overweight and need to loose weight, low carb is even more important - as a body with high insulin is gonna have a much harder time burring fat - let me be snarky too (Jesus H Christos, I am surprised you did not know that)
are you kidding, it's not the meat, it's the carbs yes if you eat excess fat calories you can gain weight too, but you will not get the metabolic disease that goes with it as that is caused by high insulin which is caused by too many carbs try eating a whole stick of butter, you will have a hard time as butter is very satiating
I see it more as an addiction, like people that drink alchol to excess, eating a lower carb diet reduces the desire for these high carb foods, I think a big part of the issue is sugar is in almost everything now - even our fruit has more sugar in it

The mechanics are 'constant movement fueling the furnace'. If you fail to move enough to fuel your metabolism to efficiency, then chemical impacts are the result. Of course. Because people now eat about 4 times the amount of meat and cheese they ate 60 years ago. AND they do far less exercise. If skinny athletes are acquiring diabetes they're probably skipping meals, or fasting - both of which significantly up your chances of messing with your pancreas. I'll try to simplify it: INSULIN PROCESSING - the efficient endocrine system - IS A FUNCTION OF EXERCISE. MOVEMENT IS WHAT MAKES THE METABOLISM FUNCTION. IF YOU DON'T MOVE, YOUR METABOLISM WILL LOSE FUNCTION IN THE SAME WAY THAT MUSCLES DO. IT WILL NOT 'FIRE' PROPERLY, AND WILL THEREFORE BE UNABLE TO REGULATE THE PROCESSING OF WHATEVER WE PUT INTO IT VIA DIET. YOU WILL BE EXPECTING A CANDLE TO DO THE JOB OF A FURNACE. COMPLEX CARBS do not have anywhere near the same impact as processed carbs, and in a FULLY FUNCTIONING METABOLISM (the result of daily protracted movement) they have no impact at all.
