In other words as a foreigner, and someone who neither understands US culture or it’s framework for governance and law, you somehow feel morally superior enough to advise 225 million people what is ‘right’ and what they should do. Right...we will get right on that.

Didn't say I felt morally superior. I have my opinions in the land of the free....both our countries are that...you are a foreigner also to us and many USA members to this forum have commented on our gun controls - that they dread the day you'll have them. 225 million people don't all believe the gun culture is in a good state in terms of safety for children and adults. You seem to be talking for everyone. That in itself is elevating oneself.

Liberty is the term used in both the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. There is a difference in meaning. Freedom, as used by you in your intended context, means denying liberty to those in the choice firearms as a means of self protection of themselves and their children.
When it comes to rights, one cannot invoke a right to deprive someone of their rights... it is fundamental to all US law. Someone exercising their right to keep and bear arms cannot invoke that right to deny someone else of their right to life, liberty, property, or any other Constitutionally recognized right.

You dont get it. If adults in usa dont change their laws about gun control the children of today will. Eventually. The day will come.
20 years ago you guys wouldnt have believed kids would swarm the white house. Thats just the start.

Sure now. Funny, just a few years ago there was just a single Constitutional carry state and a most states were ‘shall issue’ CCW states. The trend has been more and more states going Constitutional Carry... approaching 1/2 the Country, and more and more States, minimally going ‘shall issue’. None have done the reverse. Interesting how the Left has attempted to exploit children to do what they have failed to do despite the MS’s complicity in creating a perception that things have changed. Personally, I welcome the debate... at some point the SCOTUS will be induced to perform a deep review of the 2A, and based on building case history in lower Courts ... well, the Left won’t be happy with the results. Their only chance is to hope they can ride their hate of Trump to a Socialist mandate in 2020...setting the stage for a civil war.

Just as the laws of the nation of Australia can be changed, and force a cultural shift more in line with the united states with respect to firearms.

But the simple fact laws can be changed, is not grounds for simply ignoring what those laws presently states just because they are not agreed with.

Some guns? You mean the ones that are used in 1% of gun deaths?

You should care. With the stroke of a pen an executive changed a definition and made possession of these items a felony. No they were not grandfathered, they're ****ing unregistered machineguns made after May 16 1986.

Suppose they claimed the readily restored to full auto phrase also means "can take a drop in auto sear if you drill another hole" etc?
That would make every ak and ar in the same boat as bump stocks and all because you didn't care.

They start with novelties, then work their way in.

But it's the fact that the 1% is about 80% of all the high profile, mass murder, school shooting deaths that you are ignoring.
If these particular guns or gun type were used in 1% of school shootings - then you might have a better argument, but
they are used in a high number of the high profile shootings, so people aren't really buying your argument.

It should not be a surprise that the most popular rifle is used but Virginia Tech proved you can do as much damage with a 22 and 9mm. Banning guns that look scary to libs will fix nothing.

And it's this lack of understanding of Public Relations that is going to end up getting all guns banned. Millions of Americans own shotguns or guns for personal protection, but far fewer own AR style weapons. The coming generations do not see guns as
older generations did. Guns used to be seen as a tool for hunting or sport. Now there are generations of younger people whose introduction to guns is seeing their neighbors and school mates being shot with one. If the NRA and gun owners don't start understanding this new perception, then they are going to be real surprised when that generation hit the ballot box.

People don't care about your statistics in the face of weekly mass shootings where they see a certain type of weapon used.

Not surprised left wing media propaganda works on useful idiots. The left isn’t worried about taking guns from criminals, only from law abiding citizens. That’s why they start their propaganda while the bodies are still warm. Never mind that their ‘fixes’ will fix nothing.

School shootings are not "propaganda". They are a fact. Most laws don't fix "everything". And unfortunately, most school or mass shooters are law abiding citizens - right up until the second they start shooting.

I don't want to jeopardize my shotguns and hunting pistols just because a small percentage of the population wants a 100 round magazine or wants to pretend to be some kind of imaginary war hero or revolutionary.

If guns start to be banned, your guns are not going to be safe for long. The best bet is to nip the gun bans in the bud. There is no way the gun banners will be satisfied with banning one kind of gun. If they succeed at that, they will continue.

And if there is no room for compromise, then some day soon there will be a big enough school shooting that future generations will only see guns as implements of violence - not tools for hunting or home protection. In country that is split on the future of guns, having room for compromise can go a long way toward positive Public Relations. You need to swing the 15% of voters in the middle on this issue and not worry about the fringe voters who want to ban all guns. But if you loose that 15% because
you have to satisfy the small percentage of gun owners who want a 100 round magazine, then you better be prepared for the possible consequences.

Well, a red flag law would have stopped one of them because the mother went to police.

Yes but unlikely, see, we dont have a red necked gun culture. All politicians here will do is "if we weaken gun control we'll end up with mass shootings like across the pond".

Take up archery, scrabble, darts, sex...all better than a projectile by gun. As for hunting, guns arent really an example of being a tough guy.
