These exchanges have been all well and good in terms of warning signals. Unfortunately, nobody proposes a series of diets that meet all the requirements mentioned. People don't react properly unless you show-them--precisely---the----way ... !
are carbs really essential? "Keto Diet: You NEED Carbs to Live - right?" "FAT IS YOUR FRIEND!" "Keto for Beginners, How Do I Start the Ketogenic Diet?"
Even if you eat less calories, and even if you move. You end up with what Crank thinks is healthy - slim appearing. But slim with fatty liver disease and IR. It's what doctors call TOFI (Thin Outside Fat Inside). You look healthy but blood sugar is constantly elevated due to IR caused by too many carbs.
What you are doing is trying to find a WORK AROUND. All just so you can avoid normal levels of activity. In order to avoid exercise and stay alive (for a while), you have to dramatically alter your eating habits. And since that dramatically altered diet just happens to be calorie dense and yummy - of course you're going to champion it like crazy. The same reason some 'health professionals' are championing it. It absolves them of the necessity to tell their patients to stop eating so much dense food and start exercising. When we outlawed straight talk from doctors, this is what we end up with. Compromised science. I can't believe you're genuinely invested in prevention - when you apparently demonise carbs ONLY because you don't care for the necessary exercise which goes along with them. Exercise which is necessary for all of us, regardless of diet. Stop trying to find 'cures' for something so easily prevented. Eat your complex carbs and low fat, and never sit down for more than 20 minutes at a time. That alone is enough to prevent diabetes for life - along with a bunch of other nasties also held at bay but such a diet. Do little or nil exercise and eat a high fat diet, and you'll almost certainly die earlier. There is no question on that.
sounds like someone is just addicted to carbs and trying to come up with excuses to eat excessive amounts of them... Truth about carbs.... to the body... it's just sugar "7 Facts About Simple vs Complex Carbs - Have You Been Lied To?"
nope, your still trying to divert from your high carb\low fat (high insulin) diet being bad for your health as everyone has said, exercise should be done on any diet... you don't get to claim exercise as part of your diet - lol - you can't exercise away a bad diet
It doesn't work to lose weight in the presence of high carb intake, it's unnecessary, a diet high in carbs will trump any amount of exercise. You have to understand a bit of biology on how fat ends up in the pancreas, liver and eventually cells. You don't have an even basic grade school understanding of this so you are not worth bothering with. See ya.
A diet of complex carbs, vegetables, and fish (for example) is nowhere NEAR a bad diet. You have to be joking, at this point. And yes, a lifestyle of constant activity is far FAR better than the alternative.
yes, low carbs with fish is fine.... lots of starch with fish, not so much yes, if you eat a high carb diet, you best do what ever you can to try and get that toxic stuff out of your system, excessive carbs requires excessive exercise - course the constant high insulin is still gonna take it's toll on the body and that still doesn't address the excess fructose which is as bad for you as alchol
Asians do not eat excessive carbs you can only store so many carbs in your liver and muscles, best to eat less then that - you can only store about 1 teaspoon of sugar in your blood, any more then that is toxic and the body will try like crazy to get it out of the blood the bodies preferred method of energy storage is our own animal fat and we can store a lot of it - high insulin blocks are access to that energy store

I suggest the Real Hurdle is for the American overweight to stop eating as they do. You are quite correct - minimize the carbs! Then, with supreme human-courage learn how to Eat Nothing! Or next-to-nothing. Because eating is - mostly - just an over-extended bad-habit! That last one is the Real Trick. And isn't it curious that nobody suggests it? Well some do, but with a proviso (from here): May I suggest that deciding what to eat to remain within a specific lo-cal diet is no-way-to-live. Unless you learn how to make meals based upon a calorie-count - and then if eating you make sure you don't consume more calories than had you eaten at home. The real problem is the way we eat everything-everywhere in a random manner and suddenly wake-up to the fact that we are overweight. It's a bad habit and needs badly human discipline. That sort of discipline is way beyond most of us ... as the evidence proves ... PS: If you have the discipline not to eat, then you will also manage the "supposed hunger" that makes you eat far too much. Most humans do not have that discipline nor do they care to adopt it. PPS: What would help ENORMOUSLY is that we have a World War and all countries give out calorie-consumption meters that permit only a certain consumed-amount every day. (Joke! ;^)
agree, one thing that is nice about keto is once you get over the carb withdraw, the cravings just are not there like they are on a high carb diet also when you eat low carb and are in a long term calorie deficit, your metabolic rate does not drop as it does on a higher carb diet with a calorie deficit thus you do not get the 'biggest loser' effect and of course once you become a fat burner rather than a sugar burner, your right, you can just fast at times, very beneficial to one's health and you lose some weight at the same time
as long as you keep the carbs low, yep, that diet would not be that bad... not the best weight loss diet though, better as a maintenance diet if your already thin and are not insulin sensitive if one is trying to lose weight, best to avoid the grains and other sugars, eat lower-carb vegetables and fish, eggs and other meats and be careful with nuts and cheese, easy to over-consume those...
I can't lose weight on that. There are a lot Woodstock photos in the news, on its 50 year anniversary. One thing that is unmistakable is that the average young person was 20 pounds lighter than his peer to today, and the 20 pounds on the males is not just a beer belly on an otherwise strong man, it's a much weaker man with a lot fat on his hips, a much more feminine distribution. I think something hormonal is going on. Anyway, Asians seem to be very healthy on an Asian diet, I've tried it, it doesn't work very well and I'm starving the entire time. A better diet for me is something closer to what the cavemen enjoyed. Harvard Climate Loon: Keto Dieters Are Killing the Planet Because Bacon and Butter or Something.
This comment summarizes a pathetic swath of the country. And the right. I sincerely hope you never find yourself in dire straits - that you never come upon hard times. And if you do, I sincerely hope that you receive assistance from ones who are kinder hearted than yourself.
Howzat? How do people get fatter because taxation provides revenue and the Discretionary Expenditure Budget shows that half goes to only one entity. The DoD. So, yes. Uncle Sam has a fat-DoD - wolfing down billions that could be better spent offering our kids free post-secondary educations ...
Tax payers are force to pay to grow corn, forced to buy those products for the less fortunate, and then forced to mask their symptoms with pharm products. Obesity is a symptom of taxation and irresponsible spending. More taxation and irresponsible spending will not make things better.
