That is true as well .. there is a whole lot of propaganda out there .. much of which is "State Sponsored" these days... much of which done by big money interests at the top of the Establishment food chain. This is a multi billion dollar industry. It is both intentional and sophisticated. Not all attempts at mind control are nefarious but, many are. The problem is that most people are not aware that this exists and so they gobble it up.
I am very worried about Islam... more so than Christianity to be sure. There are far more radicals on the side of Islam - they are far more political - and their use of sophisticated mind control is more extreme. This however does not change the fact that here at home - the religious right has more political impact than Islam. In the words of Goldwater "I will fight them every step of the way" - and you should to if you are a good Christian. "There is no position on which people are so immovable as their religious beliefs. There is no more powerful ally one can claim in a debate than Jesus Christ, or God, or Allah, or whatever one calls this supreme being. But like any powerful weapon, the use of God's name on one's behalf should be used sparingly. The religious factions that are growing throughout our land are not using their religious clout with wisdom. They are trying to force government leaders into following their position 100 percent. If you disagree with these religious groups on a particular moral issue, they complain, they threaten you with a loss of money or votes or both. I'm frankly sick and tired of the political preachers across this country telling me as a citizen that if I want to be a moral person, I must believe in 'A,' 'B,' 'C,' and 'D.' Just who do they think they are? And from where do they presume to claim the right to dictate their moral beliefs to me? And I am even more angry as a legislator who must endure the threats of every religious group who thinks it has some God-granted right to control my vote on every roll call in the Senate. I am warning them today: I will fight them every step of the way if they try to dictate their moral convictions to all Americans in the name of 'conservatism.' Of course if it is with the intent of changing someones mind. This is not a negative form of it however.
Nobody would want a group of muslims to try and turn America into a miserable Islamic country, or any of the countries in Europe that have been destroyed. Y'all need to think before you speak.
The poor Southern Whites had virtually dotectly nothing ( read my paragraph below) to gain from betraying their country. They were either duped into fighting or they duped themselves into fighting and dying for something that had no benefit for them. I will give you one reason why Southern Whites would fight and die for slavery! By keeping slavery in tact they assure themselves that Black slaves if freed would not be their competition for farming or working ( jobs). So indirectly yes poor Southners would be fighting for slavery.
No one... that’s quite a bunch of people... I will disagree, many Muslims would love to see the US turned into an Islamic country. Just like many Evangelicals would love to see the US turned into a Christian county. Most people however don’t want to live under religious rule.
In those days American's were more loyal to their state than to the Federal government which the founders tried to give limited powers. Right or wrong many would follow their state. Others feared what would happen if thousands of Blacks were released. You also had small numbers of Blacks fighting for the Confederacy for their own reasons. The point being, the vast number of American's who fought in the Confederacy didn't do it because they were all White supremacists who fought so that rich slave owners could keep their slaves.
The reason why poor whites fought for the South was the same reason poor whites fought for the North. It is the same reason people fight for any side in war. That is where they were. They didn't need any other reason.
Not in America... yet. Many would like to see this happen though I am sure. The Christian Militia of the right wing is just as dangerous, if not more, than any other group in America. They have killed FAR more over the past decade than any other relgious group in America. When facism comes to America, it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross.
So the lib's claims were in fact slanderous, just like I stated. Thanks for the confirmation. It IS in America. It's wearing black clothes and ski mask, it's acting just like the brownshirts did in the 1930s, the same thugishness, violence, intolerance, hatred....
That you don't know the difference between believers voting their conscience, just like you do, and Islamofascist Sharia Law.
Except that right wing christian extremists have killed more people in the last 15 years than any other terrorist group in America...... So keep lying to yourself the icky Muslims are out to get you.
The parts that had nothing to do with this thread, with the reality TODAY and with the Christian group the OP as we both agreed slandered? Indeed i couldn't care less. PS out of curiosity, how many people have been killed in the US in the last several decades in the name of Christianity?
I notice you cherry pick your dates to leave out 9/11. Perhaps you could let us know what teachings of Jesus they were following. I don't know where you get your figures, take a look at this list from Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism_in_the_United_States I'm counting 25-30 Islamic terror attacks in the last 15 years, impressive considering they are 1.1% of the US population, and maybe 6-9 "Christian" ones, this from a faith that is 75% of the US population. Also a lot of LW terror on that list. Just because a terror attack is by a non-Muslim doesn't make it Christian terror, Timothy McVeigh for example said science was his god and refused to see a clergyman before his execution.
What is an 'evangelical law'? It was evangelicals who largely banned the slave trade, and who were behind the abolition movement, is that what you mean?
