And national leader is looked upon as a prime example for the country they lead, in terms of personality, behavior, personal values, etc. Elizabeth II & Prince Charles & Prince William are all looked upon in that way for the UK; Merkel certainly has been for Germany, & any President of the U.S. serves in that same capacity, including Trump. But Trump presents a reflection of "American" as somebody lacking in most human values, like honesty, integrity, compassion, generosity, etc, but strong in self-promotion, greed, competitiveness, selfishness, arrogance, etc. Support for Trump has proven one discomforting fact about Americans as a people, that a large percentage of them relate to him sufficiently to support him in almost everything he does. That is a disturbing revelation to the majority of Americans themselves (including this writer), & to many in the outside world. Trump does not offer a humanitarian, or a comforting, or compassionate America to the world or to its own citizens. And that is a major tragedy for everyone.
Tucker Carlson said two weeks ago that white supremacy is "hoax". Do you believe that's the truth, that white supremacy is a hoax?
And then, in order to justify their own bad behavior, the weak minded say they're only behaving like Trump? I don't behave like Donald Trump, or any other politician. Nor any celebrity. If people are really that easily influenced then society has some real social problems. What most Americans like about Donald Trump are his policies and there is no realistic alternative. I think most get a kick out of him and his undiplomatic behavior.
Yes, I do. It's being used for political purposes in order to frighten people. The first rule of politics is, as in 1984, to create an enemy which only select politicians can deal with. You can see the same with global warming.
Does it really matter? You already said "So Sarah Huckabee S will be a contributor to lies and a contributor of lies. Oh how precious". And yet you still don't know what her job is. I'd say she was hired for her intelligence and political insights.
Ha ha ha ha LOL LOL LOL "Intelligence and political insights". Ha ha ha lol lo lol !, Thank for the entertainment.
I didn't say anything about needing a leader we could emulate. I simply said a country's leader is looked upon as an example of the finest any country has to offer. If Trump is that for America, then I'm afraid respect & admiration for America is doomed. I think there are multiple "realistic alternatives" to Trump's policies. And I sincerely hope the American voters agree with me in 2020. I hope they send Trump back to his tower & give America new leadership in his place.
If you believe that the leader of a country is an example of the finest a country has to offer, then I suspect you have not seen many leaders. I can not think of a single leader of a single country that I would judge the country itself on. I can not think of any US leader that I would say that about since Eisenhower.
Foreigners have never liked any Republican leader, but they did like Obama and Clinton, even giving the former a Nobel Prize just for showing up. They're not taken too seriously, nor is their media.
What Tucker Carlson did was cover for Trump and many of his advertisers agreed with my opinion that it was wrong and pulled the plug on sponsorship during his hour on Fox. Tucker Carlson is a racist as anyone can be.
Obviously, since you took the time to post about it, as well as add a picture, it must mean quite a lot to you. Lol.
An "undiplomatic" bahavior would be a miraculous improvement for DT. His policies have yet to bear any positive effect on our country. His behavir is that of a toddler who flunked out of Potty training grad school.
1. I never said people should, or do, imitate Trump's behavior. I said any leader of any country stands as that country's first example to the world, of that country's people. Trump is the one we set up as our example, & some of us feel we could & should do better. 2. I think his undiplomatic behavior is misplaced & a powerful destabilizing force in the world today. I get no "kick" out of it, but feel deeply embarrassed by him as President of a country that offers so much more than he is capable of ever delivering.
It doesn't matter who the President is. Americans are all overweight warmongering imperialists whose culture is Coca Cola and Mcdonalds. What foreigners think is not important. Keep in mind that most of them want to live in America. "Diplomatic" behavior is terribly overrated and was not getting the country anywhere. In fact, the world is more 'stable' since he took over the Presidency and will continue in that direction.
I never said the leader of any country WAS an example of the finest that country has to offer. I said the leader of any country stands as the example most available for the rest of the world to see & use as an example of America & Americans. Trump is a poor example.
I don't see that at all. Foreign leaders liked Ronald Reagan & Eisenhower. I believe foreign leaders should be taken just as seriously as ours. In terms of foreign press, I watch & respect the BBC.
