First the cultural-marxist in the name of buggery went after urinals on U.S. Navy warships. Now they are going after urinals in Portland. In the name of political correctness, No urinals on the new Navy aircraft carrier But there is one thing that male sailors will notice is no longer available: Urinals. For the first time, every bathroom on the Ford — known throughout military circles as a head — is designed to be “gender-neutral,” meaning all of the urinals have been replaced with flush toilets and stalls, Navy officials say. https://www.navytimes.com/news/your-navy/2017/07/21/no-urinals-on-the-new-navy-aircraft-carrier/ Also to be even more PC, stalls will be added for privacy so snowflake sailors will have a safe space while pooping or urinating on a warship.
Part of the liberal / globalist agenda is the imasculation of the American male. This is just another example....
I went to Turkey about 10 years ago and I heard about those type of toilets. Thankfully, our hotel had standard loos.
Portland ... *sigh* ... *smh* You get a lot of men peeing over a toilet, and I guarantee you, before long, that toilet seat area is going to get befouled. That won't be too cool when you've got to sit ...
I'm not going to say I would rather die, but I really really don't want anyone seeing me take a ****. First world problems.
Yep, this is what it will come down to in cities like Portland. Islamic floor toilets. They squat and rotate so their butt is never facing Allah. Most don't use toilet paper either. All paper if there is any goes in a waste basket. They wipe with left hand if no paper. This is why Arabs won't shake hands if a person uses their left hand to shake
Not that not having urinals is as big of a deal as Portland is making it but urinals do save water. Most all new urinals use .5 to 1 gal and they even have waterless options.
Well, I’d think stalls for #2 make sense, even in a warship - I wouldn’t want my “co-workers” see me taking a dumb. At the same time, removing urinals from a warship, that has mostly male crew, is beyond retarded!
I did most of my traveling to third world and shithole countries during the 1970's. 69 it I include South Vietnam. Did my traveling around Europe and the UK during the 1980's. I could have written a book, "The Toilets of the World." But I would have to publish a second edition with a closing chapter on San Francisco and how liberal Democratic/progressives turned the streets of San Francisco into San Franshithole.
When you are in the business of killing and blowing up things, to be successful at the job there is unit cohesion and living in dormitory style barracks and having shower stalls and toilet stalls doesn't help with unit cohesion. Below is the enlisted man's head on a Sumner class destroyer. I was once aboard a Navy LSD in 1970 that still had the same kind of head on the ship. http://www.navsource.org/archives/05/interior.htm#Enlisted_Aft_Head
It is a big deal. Water saving may only be a minor consideration. Do you have any idea of how many toilets are required for a large stadium or arena? Once the minimum amount of toilets for males is met, a much smaller ratio of urinals is substituted for each additional toilet required. That saves expensive space,100's of square feet in large buildings.
San Francisco is an appalling example of liberal hypocrisy, and a lot of liberals are unaware of just how bad it makes us look in your guys' eyes. I know, though. I make it a point to watch Tucker, because I think he's your version of Bill Maher. And he's right to harp on this. If liberals want to claim they're for the "little guy", they have to do something about the housing shortage in our own liberal utopia that's devastating young people. And I know exactly why they're not doing anything about it, except throwing some crumbs at the homeless: the existing property owners like it that way. I get it, too. I have a lot of equity in a big house I bought in 2009, at the bottom of the market (but not in the San Fran area). If we loosen up the building restrictions, houses will drop in value. But we have to build more units. There's just no way around it. And we're not going to because the rich people call the shots still. Although that's changing. When you see someone like Tucker Carlson championing Elizabeth Warren's "economic patriotism", the pitchforks aren't that far away.
California's PC building regulations and restrictions make building affordable housing in California unprofitable for developers. Ever tried building a house in California ? How insane are the liberal homeless SJW ? They demand that affordable housing for those already are homeless that the homes (apartment units) have granite countertops in the kitchen. Explains why the city of Los Angeles who are building a 36 unit apartment building in Korea Town for subsidised housing is costing $700,000 per unit. You can build a huge freaking luxury house for $700,000.
Problem is, now you’re back in the business of guessing the gender and potty time of your customers. Get the ratio wrong, and one gender has lines out the door. Oddly, it is almost always women who suffer this fate. Also, the ratio can change drastically based on the event in question. Then you’re stuck with half the bathrooms being almost unused, and the entire arena trying to pack into the other half. Gender neutral bathrooms make sense for a lot of reasons.
You seemed to have missed the point men's rooms operate more efficiently with urinals and MEN PREFER THEM.
Nope, didn’t miss the point at all. The changes are in the interest of long-term efficiency and flexibility. Urinals aren’t flexible; they are only usable by men. If as a building manager you want a bathroom that you can switch to the other gender without hassle, you won’t have urinals. This isn’t complicated.
Gawd I hope I don't have to turn in my man card but I do sit down to urinate at home. Guys, don't you feel it splashing all over your feet and legs and so also the floor? I have read that it is getting on your toothbrush as well. So since I am a grown single man and clean my own house I now realize what my mum must have went through raising 3 boys. On topic though, I don't know what the thought process is on this project but most convenience stores I go to only have a toilet and no urinal. I don't get all cringed about it.
