Any "bad" thing that Trump did we can find a Democrat who also did it

Pathetic whataboutism is all you got. You don't even pretend to defend Trump anymore.

Labeling things wahataboutism has become a way to ignore what they did in the past. It is like saying we will ignore what we did, but when you do it, it is illegal.

So now it is ok to do something wrong because someone else did it and we should let those that do wrong walk free...??

That is twisting what I said. You ignore it when democrats do and then jump on republicans. If it is wrong for the republicans, it was wrong for the democrats and you should have jumped on them just as hard. Whataboutisms is just as another way of saying it was OK for a democrat to do it.

Anytime the term "whataboutism" is used you might as well admit defeat.

    How about “deflection”?
    Or avoiding the topic?
    Or “unable to defend trump”

Putting a name on it does not mean it is not a valid comment. When you ignore your people doing it, you are putting a stamp of approval on it. Then you remove that stamp when your opponent does it. That is wrong for most fair minded people.

Aren't you doing the same thing, when you claim "whataboutism"?

Just as the Right ignores it when Repubs do and then jump on Dems. BOTH sides play this game.

Probably so, but isn't that another "whataboutism" and you are using it as a defense.

Yeah, anytime Trump is investigated for "political" reasons, there was another time when the GOP investigated a Democrat for "political" reasons. Benghazi comes to mind. Of course, back then, in the mind of Trump fans it wasn't "political", but justified. Back then, there were also no efforts to call it a "soft coup", or trying to overthrow officials just because you don't like them. Neither side has roses growing out of their behinds in this regard.

That is pretty much a true statement, and an illustration of just how corrupt things are in Washington DC.

That's true. But things even alleged to have been done by Trump fit that too.
The most important thing is to stop these ridiculous snipe-fights, and get back to doing the job they are hired to do- and do it with some integrity.
Few in congress seem to remember what their job really is, but it's not to win a pissing match.

Doesn’t excuse Trump’s actions. It’s like saying you can’t be convicted of murder because other people have gotten away with it.

I told everyone one on these forums that Trump and Hillary were toxic candidates and if either were elected this was going to be the result - everything would become about them, and not the country.

    Yes! Just ignore the lying
    upload_2019-9-26_22-47-19.jpeg
    Ignore the boasting
    upload_2019-9-26_22-48-44.jpeg
    Ignore the mismanagement
    upload_2019-9-26_22-49-52.jpeg

And go find something petty about someone else and try to prove a false equivalency

Made a campaign promise to indefinitely ban all Muslims from the USA, despite it obviously being impractical, immoral and illegal?

I mean, I think pretty much all politicians are as bad as each other and the people who pretend any political party, grouping or wing is fundamentally better than any other are even worse than the politicians they worship. That said, Trump has said and done some uniquely strange, irrational and bad things during his short political career. He’s been nothing if not entertaining (at least for those of us at a relatively safe distance).

Either someone did something wrong or they didn’t. Any time we add partisanship to the mix the discussion becomes a pissing contest. Then the next step is accusing one another of false equivalency.

Like Democrats asking Ukraine for dirt on Trump in 2018?

Well, that is a falsehood but then that is politics.
