Right, so it would have nothing to do with being affected on a personal level by each individual murder.
Your argument would be valid or comparable if you said insured cancer sufferers should lose their right to their own bodies
I don't believe that they should lose their right to their bodies, not that banning cancer treatment from the health system would result in that - it would just be incredibly cruel to allow cancer sufferers to die from a lack of treatment. One way around it would be to seek the treatment outside of the local health system where it is banned, just like I would say that women could do with abortion if it was banned.
I suggest you look up the word analogy and then look up the word strawman and you’ll see the difference Straw man is making up an argument that no one presented and trying to "refute" it while ignoring the main argument Analogy is using another similar issue as an example to explain something.
Yes, this is correct. However, neither acorns or cancer are a "similar issue" to abortion. Acorns are about as removed from abortion as cancer, so I can't see how your acorn argument is an analogy but my cancer argument is a straw man. Double standard I guess! I on the other hand, would say that both of our arguments are analogies!
Getting back to something resembling the thread - "Right, so it would have nothing to do with being affected on a personal level by each individual murder." The claim above is fallacy - as it assumes that a murder has taken place with respect to abortion - at all stages of pregnancy. You have not shown that this claim is true.
And yet, you referred to it as your BABY at least one week before giving birth! Or at least you have friends and family that did!
When I talk about "murder" there, I'm talking about the murder of born people, not abortion. You don't think that it should be legal to kill born people, even though outside of your personal context, the murder of a person does not affect you on a personal level. This response is only relevant to you if you use that LAUGHABLE argument that people shouldn't be anti-abortion because it doesn't affect them! However, I think that you're a bit more intelligent than that!
Thought you were referring to abortion..... forgive me for not paying that much attention to your posts
Abortion is obviously not murder in the eyes of the law, but there is obviously no moral difference between the unborn and the born. Unless you're able to enlighten us!
That you do not realize that there is a difference between a single human cell - and a born living human - is what separates you from enlightenment.
