My Prediction: Trump will resign.

" I will resign if nobody prosecutes" is a time honored way out for pols facing long jail time if they lose an upcoming election that is doubtful.

The problem is that Trump isn't just amazingly corrupt , he's nuts.

 

Arrogance, ego, and cowardice make it difficult to predict Trump's next moves on the checkerboard. Trump will ignore all advice and make up his own escape route. Trump needs an exit ramp that will allow him to save face and avoid being labeled a "loser."

A Pence pardon will be part of any deal. Exit ramps that come to mind are health problems -- the victim ramp. Another is to save the billion dollar business empire -- the savior ramp. He has already "confessed" to his base that being president has cost him billions, so that's the one that gets my vote.

One way or another, he will be gone. He has an army of lawyers that can tie up states until Trump disappears completely. I hear that dacha outside Moscow beckoning.

 

Given your track record on predictions regarding Trump, I'm not sure whether I should just just shake my head and walk away or laugh.

We would be in real trouble were that to happen. He is the one waking the USA to just how much fake news is out there. I like this highlight of this point:

 

A couple days ago a buddy of mine told me he just closed his internet business. He said it wasn't making any money but he's getting out now because a recession is coming next year. I told him they are only saying that to hurt Trump's reelection. He then said because of the tariffs, companies are laying off. I said most of the tariffs haven't even went into effect yet. He said 1/3 have and then said he read all this in a couple business magazines. Of course big business likes the cheap Chinese goods and the same people who predicted a recession once Trump took office are again predicting it before the next election.

I have no doubt the Democrats if able would bring this whole country down in order to take down one man.

Never. He will never resign. Won't happen. His ego will outright prevent him from doing so. When he leaves the White House, it will be either after he loses the election, or because he was dragged out by law enforcement. The latter may still happen even if the former does too if his ego and self-obsession cannot handle the loss.
