    You are absolutely correct. Mr.Legal is once again pulling stuff out of thin air.

    I have stated the same in other postings.

    The Chief Justice presides over an actual court proceeding. There has to be actual evidence presented just like in a Federal courtroom. Hearsay is not valid evidence.

    This is why the Dems won't vote for an actual impeachment inquiry...they don't want the truth, they don't want to be transparent....they aren't serious and shouldn't be taken as serious.

    The President is meanwhile, conducting the people's business....take care

    The "people's business" is currently to leave Kurdish allies to die and to withdraw the Clear Skies treaty.

    The former Ukrainian Diplomat is currently scheduled to give a deposition in this case. Will the White House stonewall that deposition from taking place?

    I tend to agree with that thinking... Unlike a normal "trial" with innocent until proven guilty, if a president is impeached by the House, it's essentially on the President to convince the Senate that the impeachment isn't warranted. And at that time, he's going to cooperate all day long (with stuff he wants to make public)..

    Impeachment coming, likely well before Thanksgiving...

    For NOW. Traditionally such testimony is negotiated with the State Department and the Congress and then given. Here Schiff gave them and the ambassador two working days to produce ALL the documents and to prepare for the testimony and ordered that he could not have State Department counsel present and as with Volker it would be behind closed doors and no transcript released so Schiff could cherry-pick and misrepresent as he usually does.

    The Democrats can sit down and come to an agreement for public testimony and due process.

    I hear that although she is no longer Ambassador to Ukraine, she still works for the State Dept in some capacity, so it will be an interesting call she has to make.

    She has no extra knowledge of the phone call, since she was gone long before that, but obviously she can testify to Rudy's shadow diplomacy attempts...

    Sucks that it will be a closed door effort if it happens...

    The, "equal protection," clause of the 14th Amendment places the burden upon Congress to act in accordance to precedence and a prior Supreme court ruling on the issue.

    The absence of Due Process in a Congressional Impeachment proceeding is nothing short of a travesty.

    The House has to present evidence for the Chief Justice to establish a, "standing," for a trial.

    McConnell is right... He wouldn't even have to call for a trial if nothing valid is presented.
