Technology is storming ahead. Hand on heart, I only know of two electric owned vehicles, to the same family. One a Nissan Leaf and the other is a Hybrid Mitsubishi.
That SHILL for the nuclear industry has ZERO CREDIBILITY! https://www.wiseinternational.org/n...hael-shellenberger-and-environmental-progress
So you didn't watch the video!! He licked Obama's backside and got him to champion renewables. He's one of your ilk!!! Then reality hit him, lmfao.
The Leaf is a dog. I don't know about the Mitsubishi. A lot of the cars sold in Europe aren't sold in the US because we have a love affair with big and fast that just doesn't work in Europe.
I do my own research before wasting my time watching mindless shills which is way more than can be said for those who believe the debunked disinformation of the fossil fuel cartel.
If you did your research on renewables under Obama, you would have come across Michael Shellenberger. He convinced the Obama administration to pump billions into renewables. He's realised his errors, but he has an impressive career read. So, looks like you haven't done your research a second time!! Does Michael not support your agenda?
Might have been. So far I've never seen anyone able to justify the child slavery or the deaths attributed to their love of electric cars. Perhaps you'll be the first.
Do you hear that .............silence.......in California? https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/...-affect-millions-prevent-wildfire/3916848002/ That silence connected to electric vehicles charging.
The horse has a top speed of 55 MPH, while the model T has a top speed of 45 MPH. Horses can handle rough country while model Ts can't. Automobiles will never be able to properly handle agriculture. Then don't buy an EV now and wait until technology improves. I Those won't be allowed eventually and its going to get harder and harder to find a good one and infrustructure to maintain it.
Bravo Yes, what is the environmental costs of charging all those electric vehicles? Mirrored deserts focused on some tower that fries birds flying through? Windmills that cost more in energy to create than they will ever return? Take Toyota is coming out with their new, improved Hydrogen Fuel Cell car with over a 400 mile range. If only they would build one that looks more like my '98 Ford Expedition 4WD. High road clearance. Weight! helps avoid skids Yes to Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. There is a station within 1/4 mile of my home to refill. The Arnold imagined a California Hydrogen Highway, no one bought in. Unfortunately such vehicles are still feather weight and hardly roomy. I WANT MY BIG SUV 4WD FUEL CELL / HYDROGEN vehicle or I stay with gasoline! I also like Solar Electric and believe in no naked roofs The electric company should "rent my roof" and those who don't own a roof, pay for it! No NOT my equipment. The Electric Company's equipment.
I don't think many horses can run at 55mph for long !! Yes, people should just walk several miles to Walmart for groceries and carry them back home. It'll build up leg and arm muscles. That'll teach umpteen million that wouldn't be able to afford EV etc.. Don't worry about my future little car.
Yup, I think EV is a knee jerk reaction to the climate hysteria. Better sources of fuel should have been developed and invested in first. The National Grid in the UK would never cope with back feeding electric from every roof. The cost to upgrade the whole network would cost far too much. When the demand is not there, where does the electric go?
Isn't Germany doing that today? And they are like a latitude. "Power Centers" resist diversified power production. They prefer central Electricity Power Production and monopoly cost of . . . Supporting instead, idiotic major solar, windmills, nuclear. Anything but, diversified power production! Dear @Nonnie WE Get it. Yes? If Yes, how to convince the troglodyte Boardies Those that mantra about EV vehicles
Problem is, those who shout the loudest don't often have the right answer, and at the moment, the climate alarmists are screeching their tits off about EV's.
Or are really as ignorant as Michelle Obama and poor (Black) children nutrition needs. psst, it ain't lack of fresh broccoli! It be need for fresh beef/chicken with veggies and fruit. Add "Whole" milk and a yummy desert. Not a deficiency in rabbit food. BTW Back to the electric car. Only Musk gives Tesla extra EMF shielding in the back seat where children are placed. Go figure No I Do Not Like Electric Cars, Sam I Am but if I must, fuel cell style.
A BS in Mechanical engineering. Turning electrical energy into mechanical energy is very efficient. Most losses are friction. There is almost no loss of energy. However the efficiency of an internal combustion engine and other methods of generating electricity depends on the heat sink and the combustion temperature and other factors For example, feel the heat of the exhaust. That is wasted energy. Directly comparing an internal combustion engine to an electric motor is similar to comparing an internal combustion engine to an auto transmission. In function, the electric motor is more like the transmission than the engine. I https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/1468087417737700?journalCode=jera This second source talks a bit about electric motors. https://www.quora.com/How-energy-efficient-are-electric-motors-compared-to-combustion-engines
Natural gas is a great fuel. We have vast reserves and it is clean. Unfortunately we have a bunch of nuts who blame fracking for everything from earthquakes to water pollution.
Imagine trying to evacuate a hurricane with all the traffic and taking 8 hours what would normally be a 3 hour trip and at best can only make 100 miles inland somewhere.
Well, if it's so easy, I don't see a role for the government here. Go do it, if you really think it's a good idea and not too expensive. Btw, don't call in complaining when you have to go up on your roof and do cleaning every month, or have to spend thousands of dollars replacing one of them when something breaks.
It takes more energy to seperate out the hydrogen than can be realized in burning it. That is too say, if one were to use a gasoline engine to provide the the energy to extract hydrogen for use in one's car, one would use less energy using a gasoline engine vehicle.
The thing about electricity is that it is a fundamental force of nature. Anyone who figures out how to capture it gets essentially free electricity. And it is infinity available. On the other hand gasoline is a commodity that most people have to purchase from someone else, at a markup to cover profit. Why should I hand over my money to a gas company, when a little wind, a little sun, and a little water will give me energy for free?
A friend of mine has a Tesla, whichl has a lot of kick to it. I keep hoping Ford will come out with an electric Mustang. Something to put gasoline powered muscle cars to shame, like the Tesla does. They could even have an Indianapolis 500 race with electrics. Instead of a pit stop to fill up their thanks, they could just swap out batteries.
