    It's annoying, but small potatoes.

There is no obligation to 'show respect' for your country. Hell, there is no obligation to feel respect for your country. There is an obligation to obey regulations, ordinances or laws lawfully passed in this country, no doubt. But there may at times be an greater duty served, by not to obeying regulations, ordinances, or laws. You can take pride in both your country and take pride in being a dissident voice, a voice of protest, of reform, of change. Thus the moral justification exists for civil disobedience.

And the amount of whining from righties is pathetic. HELL NO, I'm no more proud of America than I would have been Nazi Germany in 1939. But I'm sure that means nothing to you. And that's why the good people are not proud of what's happening here.

Maybe we can find you a safe space to hide in so the big mean liberals won't hurt you.

Why couldn't do their protesting at the Washington Mall where they can do their legally? Is that too much to ask? There are a lot places they can go to protest without breaking the laws. If they keep doing what they're doing there and they will end up in in court being found guilty and facing time in prison. If this is what they want, They will be sorry for it.
Maybe I overstepped my boundaries a little but justice must be served and no exceptions for Jane Fonda.

But you don't really think 5 years in jail is appropriate punishment for trespassing. It's a misdemeanor unless it's on an air base with intent to commit sabotage/ or something like that.

Jane Fonda is an actress that became an activist and used her celeberty to advance the causes she truly believed in. I like her and admire the way she has always risked her career to stand up for what she believed was right. That’s what America is all about young man. We need more people like her. Also, anytime you run into a petty little prick of a person that demeans her or disparages her you can be sure that that person is a tiny dicked and tiny minded twit. Remember that!!

Hell. The way the North Vietnamese government treated their own people was horrific. And the way the Southern Communists acted at Tet in 68 with regards to civilians, that right there should have generated support for the war from good people.

It's been that way for a long time, despite the clear language of the First Amendment and various court decisions.

In about 26 states today, it is illegal to participate in BDS against Israel, even though it is well established that such protests are perfectly legal. Federal legislation is on the way.

Patriotism is a con that is pressed on people by others that frequently expect you to die on their say so.

It is certainly not as great as it used to be. Look at what has happened to Detroit and Newark and what is happening to SF and Seattle. The decay of America is seen everywhere, actually.

look at Brooklyn and the millionaires buying up property. This is what happens when you have such disproportionate earnings...but you keep fighting for the billionaires to pay the same tax rate as the working class

Not me. I really don't approve of the tax cuts.

But I do approve of restricted immigration and protective tariffs. That was the unions programs back in the 50's and 60's.

The Democrats sold out the working class and joined with the Republicans for cheap immigrant labor and free trade. Why did they do that?

The immigration always has been restricted. Little has changed about it. The only thing changed is how to handle an illegal immigrant. You can better ask why companies are able to employ illegal immigrants with any repercussion. They are fined crazy amounts in Europe. I found Greece fines over 10.000 euro for each illegal immigrant employed. (https://ec.europa.eu/home-affairs/s...al_employment_synthesis_report_final_en_0.pdf page 15).

If you got some nice Latin American cleaning lady employed who comes by ones a week for some hours, and a civil servant follows that lady for a week. Than the state would earn maybe up to 250.000 euro. That would cover the salary of that civil servant and the kicking out of that person... while the people who are not patriotic would think twice before doing that. And those people only come for work.... without work....

That. And the US capitalistic system/culture arranged for it's own sellout. It's a race to the bottom for costs.
