By private parties?? Yes, of course. The Constitution doesn't restrict the citizenry, it restricts the government. Of course that is an abomination in the eyes of the left, b/c they are all about using the government to control and restrict citizens. They have successfully turned the Constitution and the rule of law on its head. And that represents a greater danger to the people than some one-off ignorant bigot.
The absolute limit of concern is institutional discrimination, and that no longer exists. Therefore, AA is a legal initiative perpetrated in the absence of a legal imperative. Not sure if that's what you're asking. You may be talking about personal feelings? If so, not sure what that would have to do with the laws?
No. WE need to enforce the one we have. Separation of Powers. Not some parliamentary manure The Bill of Rights with special attention to numbers 2, 4 and 10! Yo - O.Z. go ref. 2, 4 more so and especially 10!
@Sallyally She be Australian. passing like some one of us. No fight for independence. Criminalized if failing to vote, like the ole USSR. Consider a State of UnFree, vs the usual dichotomy. Screwed by the parliamentary system they be. And what of her, Native Peoples? And Affirmative Action. Create aborigine to lawyers/M.D./ etc. now!
Not a trick question, but your answer is wrong. I asked b/c you don't seem to understand what is and isn't a proper governmental function. Didn't know you were an Aussie, so I guess that would explain it.
Somehow, the system manages to re balance; the 3 branches. Like from post War Between The States when a President became more meaningless to Teddy Roosevelt/Woodrow Wilson creating a strong presidency. So how is your aboriginal AA going? Pass the grubs, yum!
That is not how informed, free people accept that their government will function. Educated and informed people understand that their government must be constrained by law, and that democracy is a terrible form of government.
Do you think your current system is balanced? It seems to be a battle between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial.
It was designed that way deliberately. Our Founders did everything they could think of to ensure that government was constrained, chained down. It was empowered to do certain "enumerated" tasks and functions. Outside of those enumerated powers, they had no further power. Of course that proper understanding and restrictions have been continually under attack for decades now, and America is in serious trouble as a result.
It would be government sponsored discrimination if they did not allow white men the way they used to deny people of color and women. And that was for hundreds of years So then it would be ok if private parties denied white men access to power and more he and education. Mmmmm Those damn people on the left getting rid of slavery and segregation. They’re just trying to control the bigots ...shame on them. And those damn people on the left they want to control the food we eat by inspecting it. That really pisses me off. And Why should I have to send my children to public schools when they could just stay home and be stupid
The left's solution to the abuse of someone's Constitutional rights is to abuse others of their Constitutional rights. Affirmative Action is classic racism. You don't solve racism by making it legal.
Government cannot discriminate, private citizens can. It's called freedom. And it wasn't "the left" that freed anyone. The left believes in using governmental power to achieve their ends.
I'll take home schooled kids over the average public educated kid every day. I've seen high school grads that can't even spell their address or speak English.
Pretty picture. Donald trump puts a bias on the Supreme Court by appointing conservative judges. House of reps won’t cooperate with the president (Obama) and stymies anything he tries to implement, trump has to take money from the military to build his fence because Congress didn’t agree with building the fence, etc, etc. Not a picture of a smooth running government.
