It is MOST TELLING that you can't think of any other example of bodily autonomy that is even REMOTELY similar to the right of having an abortion in the health system! Body piercing is an example of bodily autonomy, but obviously if the government banned people from piercing their own body it would be taking away their bodily autonomy! Not the same!If women want to have an abortion in the privacy of their own home, then fine! They still have the bodily autonomy to do that!
It's not only "telling" but screaming loudly that you still don't know the meaning of bodily autonomy....
How?....and why is it relevant to this discussion? You seem to think "bodily autonomy " has to do with being in the privacy of your home (?????)) WTF?
The reason I use that is because when someone is in the privacy of their own home, they're usually not involving someone else. When someone pierces themselves inside or outside their home, this is an example of bodily autonomy. Do you agree?
Abortion is evil. But thats my moral position. Greed is also evil. Neither should be illegal. Murder and theft are illegal because they're dissorderly, not because they're immoral. Abortion is not dissorderly, and thus it should be legal to access. ...so long as I can choose to not participate in it by not funding it. Theocracies legislate morality. We don't want that.
. WHAT?! Being in the privacy of your own home can involve any number of people... What does being inside or outside the home have to do with anything? Certainly not bodily autonomy... And what has body piercing got to do with the topic or abortion? Have you looked up the definition of "bodily autonomy " yet? I bet not.
Alright, forget about the home. When someone pieres their body, this is an example of bodily autonomy. Do you agree? Surely bodily autonomy isn't specific to abortion.
Btw women won't die if abortion is made illegal, they will die because they chose to break the law. Those who follow the law and practice responsibility will not die.
So it exists inside her, completely on it's own? How did it make it's body, it's blood, it's tissue and where did it get the material? How does it breathe? What does it eat and drink? Where does it's waste go? How does it stay warm? Where did this void that the fetus apparently moved in to come from and how did it get inside the mother without her becoming alarmed about this new completely unconnected unincorporated part of her abdomen? I can't say I've ever heard of having entire regions inside a person's body that aren't a part of that person's body. Seems kind of like magic. Or bullshit.
It is there because the mother decided to get pregnant. 1 year olds and the elderly are often dependent on other humans also, you want to murder them too? Pot, meet kettle. All human life is valuable, even fetus Junkieturtle.
Do they live inside other people too? If that were actually true, the world would be a far different place. As it stands, I think we should be protecting the valuation of the already born before we start worrying about usurping wombs from pregnant women.
I think it should be the choice of the women to have a baby or not, not the governments job to decide for her
you got that confused, it's mostly pro-lifers that do not care about rape victims in fact many want to force rape victims to have their rapists baby it's simple, if one doesn't want an abortion, don't have one - if the government decides for you, they can also choose to abort as it would then be their choice, not yours
That does not make it independent from her body. It is part of her body. If it is an independent entity then it could be taken out, set on a shelf , and develop on it's own. Can it?
Prolifers will take any such baby being considered for abortion. If you learned you were a product of a rape, would you want to kill yourself? Two crimes don't make a right. Simple, if one doesn't want an unwanted pregnancy, don't have one.
