"I'm shocked!" said nobody including his supporters.

Did Trump pay back the loans?

If so all is well. If so, there is no reason to snoop.

The head of the IRS has admitted they do not have the staff to audit complicated returns properly and instead just focus on simple returns.

Also why has the source been attached 100 times in this thread? They are rated by fact check organizations as typically being “highly factual”.

That's what happens when you have a tax code of 17 million pages of complexity to the nineteenth power.

It's very, very expensive to get the education to understand it, and even more expensive to then go through all the complex the gyrations to enforce it.

The only hope of the USA is Forbe's flat tax.

Back on that? You never responded last time I called you out on it, so that pretty much says you have no way to refute the fact that not only were they responsible for their own health insurance, but consideration of the fact that they proceeded to sue the estate, and still expected a 'favor'.

How much of it is directly accountable to an actual crime, and not stupid lying that had nothing to do with the supposed crime?

I'm pretty sure some of that was covered in David Cay Johnston's book "The Making of Donald Trump"

Which would decimate poor homes and allow rich ones to buy an eight yacht.
It also doesn’t tax capital gains which is how most wealthy make their money — their tax would effectively be $0.00.
    That’s not an option.

Obviously illegally. I don’t have the time to check but leaking private tax records has to be a crime. If taking something out of someone’s mailbox is a crime how can someone’s private finances being stolen not be?

That remains to be seen. Let the investigation take it's course.

Do you care that Flynn and Papadopoulos were coerced into pleading guily to dubious, at best, charges?

Flynn and Papadopoulos pled guilty to crimes in order to avoid prosecution for more serious crimes.

Property tax records are public record — including adjustments. My state has an online database where you can look up anyone’s.

I think you need to question who this piece was written for - I wouldn't expect much technical jargon. Can you engage the gist of the article? Honest request.

I was actually referencing the people that have already 'pled guilty', not Trump.

While 'letting the investigation take its course', of which I could have no possible influence, I find it of questionable position that a formal vote has not been taken, therefore sidestepping many LEGAL matters of this 'investigation. Let's be realistic. It's not an 'investigation', there isn't a specific thing to be 'investigated'. They are running Trumps life through a sieve, hoping something may appear.

While I have no love for Trump, the DNC is setting a precedence that will come back to haunt them, and all future Presidential administrations.

There are other methods of income other than direct rent. As you noted, semantics matter. :)

Doesn't have to be tax evaders but back when over the road long haul truck drivers had to keep a log book it was more than common to keep two or more log books so they could keep on trucking making money.

Even contractors in the construction trades will keep two sets of books.
One legit for the IRS and one not so legit for the owner or inspectors etc.

Reporting one set of facts to tax authorities and a different set of facts to loan authorities - when you make sworn statements as to the veracity in both reports - is something worth investigating.
