So we might get to see President Trump's tax returns soon. The fact they are hidden tells us they are either very little or nothing at all. Truth be told, the rich do pay a fair percentage of the total tax revenue in Western nations. I think the upper one percent pay from a third to more than a half of all tax revenues in New York city, for instance. The rich pay nearly 40% of all taxes in America. But that's not the point. How is it that the rich pay whatever they want to pay when it comes to taxes? Democrats, outdoing each other with wealth tax proposals, are maybe missing the point - we can't get the rich to pay what they are suppose to pay NOW. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/nov/04/donald-trump-tax-returns-appeals-court
EVERY other presidential candidate has turned over theirs so why is Dirty Donald so reluctant.....What's he hiding?????The Clinton's turned over 25 years of theirs.
My understanding is that the NY district attorney is conducting an investigation on Trump and needs the tax returns for the investigation. The issue was whether or not a state or local government has jurisdiction over a POTUS. Apparently it does for the moment. It may be reversed in the supreme court. We may see. But nevertheless, the real reason they want the returns is to find things to use to attack Trump. It is important to understand that corruption exists at all levels of government including the judiciary. The more power, the more corruption. It is human nature.
they want them for purely political reasons. He has been audited by the IRS multiple times and nothing has ever been found. This is taken right from the Obama play book when he had the IRS go after political opponents.
My understanding is that this is part of an investigation into the Trump Organization. One item they would want to check is his valuation of property for tax purposes (under valuing) versus the valuation of the same properties for the purpose of obtaining loans (overvaluation). He's personally escaped four or five personal bankruptcies, by essentially shorting his investors. And, he's paid fines and closed down entities such as Trump University and the Trump Foundation. The Manhattan DA is probably looking for discrepancies between his financial position as portrayed in his taxes versus his financial position as portrayed in his separate "financial statements."
Does that mean you think it's OK to lie on tax returns and/or financial statements presented in conjunction with loans?
The Trump Organization, like most large companies, are audited constantly. The IRS normally has an office in the headquarters of these companies. I know this from personal experience. If they think they can do a better job than the IRS then they need to get real. This is pure politics.
Mr. Vance has been investigating whether any New York State laws were broken when Mr. Trump and his company reimbursed the president’s former lawyer and fixer, Michael D. Cohen, for payments he made to the pornographic film actress Stormy Daniels, who had said she had an affair with Mr. Trump. The president denies the affair.
Isn't one reason to verify that the valuation of his assets on his tax returns matches the valuations for the same properties on the loan documents for Deutsche Bank, as well as others.
Except he has constitutional rights that cannot be taken away except through due process, which is working out as we speak.. Innocent until proven guilty... doubly so when government entities have it in for you which is obvious.
He HAS due process. Due process says he has to pony up (Or, actually, that the firm has to pony up). Turns out kicking and screaming about how you are a poor wittew victim isn't a real defense.
True...due process is being conducted, so we'll see how it turns out. But the odds of the prosecution winning their case are 90%+ (i.e. in more than 9 out of 10 cases, the Feds win). So...if you're a betting man...
I could care less about his tax returns. We already know what the outcome would be. The democrats will look for any line among thousands in his return that they can comment on. Even if he gives 20 million to charity they will complain that it was not 40 million. I do not blame him for keeping them secret.
You guys were obsessed with Obama's birth certificate, even though there was absolutely no reason to be. We want Trump's taxes because we want to show the nation that he uses loopholes to avoid paying taxes and probably plays fishy games with the taxman. We need to judge the moral fitness of whoever occupies the Oval Office.
Umm i have no problem with with them using the legal process to get what they need for justice. I'm just suggesting that ot has nothing to do with justice and has everything to do with vindictive partisanship.
Nope i have very little doubt Trump slept with stormy then paid her off.. quite frankly I'm suprised he isn't bragging about it.
I was never obsessed about obumbers birth certificate. I've spent about two minutes of my life contemplating it. One ofvthem just now.
