That's fine, but there's two unresolved issues:
    A) what do we do with 15 million people here illegally who now can't find any work?
    B) If punishing employers for illegally hiring these people is not a priority in a Trump administration (and it's obviously not), it definitely won't be a priority in a Democrat administration. So we're back to square one. Both parties apparently are OK tolerating a status quo that is untenable in the long run.

The problem is this country is just not mean enough to pull that off, and everyone knows it. When Trump started the family separation deterrence policy, there were howls of protest, and it was quickly stopped. So there's just no political appetite to make it "unattractive" to come here, esp. if the country they're escaping from is a disaster, which a lot of Central American countries are. No matter what we do, people are going to take their chances and come here and they're going to bring their kids, and we're back to square one.

To give Trump credit, he got Mexico and El Salvador to take a lot of the asylum cases that were swamping us last Summer, in exchange for beefing up those countrys' asylum systems (which won't be cheap, but it's money well spent).

Illegal immigration is not the reason people are homeless and/or forgoing mental health care. And illegal immigrant crime is not any worse than its ever been. The crime rate has been very low for the last 20 years.

It's because we have an economic system that is absolutely failing about 1/3 of the country, and a healthcare system that is one of the worst in the world. So people get laid off, can't find comparable employment, turn to drugs, and our drug money goes straight to these countries to the South and totally destabilizes them. And then we look at these countries and say, "why are you guys such a mess?". Like we have nothing to do with it.

Any solution has to start with getting our drug epidemic under control. End the "war on drugs", stop the supply of narcodollars to the cartels, and bring stability to countries that have been ravaged by drug violence.

And even that is ignoring the core issue, which is: what is it about this society that causes so much suicide, drug use, and alcoholism?

Ever heard of a guy named Reagan? Anyways, he was a Republican, guess what he made possible? That's right, the abillity for illegals to seek ER care. A democrat did not make that happen. Massive "Republicans are heartless and evil" strawman fail.

It's why "debating" the left, is mostly a waste of time.

You can't get a heart transplant in an emergency room.

An illegal shouldn’t get a free heart transplant. No one should get a free heart transplant. Too valuable. If you pay into the system you get something out of it. If you don’t pay into it, sorry back of the line.

**I said vote, and I meant they raised their hands--my bad.

According to the claim, "he said the 2020 Democratic primary candidates want to “give free health care to illegals.” They did not say the would give free health care. As stated, the statement is false.

The candidates did say they were in favor of providing health care coverage, but that doesn't mean it would be free. In fact, Buttigieg said, “And,remember, we are talking about something people are given a chance to buy into," and he said that it was not a handout.

Sorry- can't help but laugh here.

The Democrats DID say they want to give FREE health care to illegal immigrants. You're just shifting the envelope.

    Pathetic.

The Democrat debate where they unanimously wanted to give Free Health Care to Illegal Immigrants.

    What are you referencing?

    A Mayor?

No, they did not unanimously want to give free health care to illegals. The moderator asked the 10 (not 22) candidates to, "raise your hand if your government plan would provide coverage for undocumented immigrants."
The statement does not state or imply free coverage, and in fact, most candidates were on record as saying that providing coverage meant allowing them to buy into the system.

Can you please cite this part? There's already a thread about the dem debate (which you know being a mod), but you're contradicting those.

Do we need to cite the video of the debate?

I assume you're making a prediction. You might be right, but the claim was that 22 candidates raised their hands when asked if they were for free health care, and that all 22 of them raised their hands. That claim is false

Fact is, they all raised their hands to cover 13+ million illegals, there is zero question the taxpayers will bear the burden and the medical system, will be further strained.

I believe everyone has heard a number of democrat candidate for nominee say that exact thing.

Kamala Harris, Booker, Orourke, Killibrand, Warren and Sanders

Isn't it better that those 13 million pay into the system? That would help lower costs for all of us.

I'd have to look it up because I'm not all that interested in those folks, but that wasn't the claim. All I'm saying is that the statement in the OP was in fact a false statement.
Of those listed, Warren is the only one who stands a chance of being elected. Even so, I seriously don't think the medicare for all is viable and would stand little chance of being seriously considered.

I'm more in favor deporting illegals. Then all the burden they place on the system would be nill.

It really wouldn't. All of their plans are either "free" (tax the rich) or gives subsidies to low income individuals. Considering illegals VASTLY would fit in the low income bracket, they would be a dramatic and devastating drain on any medical system.
