Regarding heatlthcare....there is no competition from medical and insurance to woo and compete for the individual citizens business...because individuals lack the ability to choose. They get what their company chooses.
Did Trump have to use executive authority to push this rule because the Democrats in the House refused to support any of his initiatives? i.e. Democrats aren't willing to support healthcare price transparency.
Really? Because what I see on here are people looking at this from all sides. Yes some good might come out of it but also some bad (cost cutting) may also arise
Consider the fact you may be too easily distracted. Transparency in the medical field is very important and can lead to competitiveness in a very complicated industry. The more the public knows the better for all. President Trump did a good thing and your complaining and distracting is of no consequence.
Off topic. If you want to discuss tax returns there may be a thread or two to jump in and comment. Trump's decision here is a good thing and to think otherwise just shows imbedded TDS.
some depend in their employer to choose, but the person that chooses is an employee too. Also with many companies over 20 employees or so offer multiple options. I think i had 9 plan Choices this year
Fewer nurses per ward! Less cleaning staff, fewer support staff, less qualified staff, decreased maintenance, older equipment which is not upgraded.....
People don't make decisions based on price alone; quality is also a factor. If a hospital cuts costs to the point of seriously reducing quality of care, people will stop patronizing them as with any other business. Hospitals will need to find an acceptable balance between price and quality to remain competitive.
Universal healthcare will increase costs, increase taxes and increase the amount of patients that will die due to delayed healthcare and procedures. Socialism doesn't work. Trump is on the right path with getting hospitals to reveal their rates and to make it more open and plain to people who visit hospitals. The current model needs to be revised not torn down and replaced with a Soviet Union style, Socialist brand of medicine. It's insane that schools have failed our youth and have failed to teach them the dangers and horrors of these systems.
Ah yes, everything is sunshine and lollipops. https://fee.org/articles/australias-universal-health-care-system-a-cautionary-tale/
"the rates they negotiate with insurers and the amounts they are willing to accept in cash for an item or service" They already know both the RATES they negotiate with insurers, and the AMOUNTS they are willing to accept. If the doctor says, "yes," to whether the insurance pays for the test (I can live without), I know he is lying his ass off because of experience. They know exactly how much they are going to charge for the test, the doctor doesn't know how much the insurance will pay, in absolute fact the "Insurance" will not even tell me beforehand. Universal healthcare, all of the Democrat's proposals for it, is "Totally stupid , idiotic, unfeasible, unworkable and useless idea," without the ability to know the rates and amounts. We can't give the industry a blank check, the Constitution does not have that provision. Trump did not invent this. Get Trump out of your ASS and grow up.
lol The University of Sydney conducted a survey on Australians that chose to purchase private health insurance. They surprisingly found that 50% of Australian citizens purchased a private health insurance policy either on their own or through their employer. By far the biggest reason that they chose to purchase a private health insurance plan was the long wait times in the public hospitals. Then there is this: Dental, vision and long-term care or among the important services that people don’t get coverage for. The system does cover prescription medications, which is something that the Canadian healthcare system lacks. However, many Australians without private health insurance find themselves unable to get certain treatments they need to live a comfortable life.
Tax returns are private information the Government must protect from the Commie Democrat traitors, but if you insist that I see your medical records feel free.
This is exactly what happens in universal and single payer systems. Also the doctor to patient ratio is substantially diminished.
