    From your link:
John Yudichak said in a statement that he is leaving his old party because he is weary of “'purist' politicians who demand that you choose a battle camp. You must pass their litmus test, and declare if you support ‘us,’ or ‘them.’"

Yudichak, who won his third term in the Senate in 2018, said he believes that going forward he will best be able to serve the interests of his constituents as an independent, supporting Democratic and / or Republican ideas case by case when he believes they “serve the greater good and help government work for people rather than the narrow interests of the partisan ‘purists.’”

That’s definitely a hit on both parties, but with as little “winning” as the right is experiencing I guess even small spins brighten your day.
As to 2020, many people are looking forward to it but currently it looks like no majority change in congress with a slim margin in the presidency.
If you are surmising the democrats will be “clobbered” based on a senator becoming an independent is an interesting narrative though.

How did the lone independent vote in the impeachment investigation?

Did he join the Republican Party instead to support Trump? No he did not.

He probably didn't read past the headline before posting.

Let's be honest you would have made the kind of statements if a Republican went independent. This can not be good sign for the party.

Except that the facts in this case don't support your assertion. It doesn't matter what you imagine someone would have said if it were a Republican leaving the party. One could also claim that you would be saying something different under those circumstances.

I believe that is my whole point. It was a stupid argument to put forth. If he did not want to address the post with something of any value he should have simply moved along.

Two democrats voted to make the investigation official as per the demands of trump and Republicans, along with 229 other Democrats.

Now feel free to answer my question. How did the sole independent vote?
    Difficult to answer I guess...

Actually they voted against the inquiry.

You can call Amash an independent if you like. We both know he's not.

Posting more information from the source link is not “addressing the post with something of any value”?
Oh y’all only want value that forwards the narrative.

    Yeh... no.

He still caucuses with the Democrats, so all is good. This may simply be a move to cater to his voters in a close election.

For the sake of our country, I hope so. We cannot afford having them in power and shoving their Nazi policies down the throats of the Middle Class.

Oh you mean those two, you didn’t specify.
There were 231 yes votes, 2 no votes, and 1 non voting. So 1.29% did not vote for the resolution, slightly lower than the percentage of Republicans who did not vote against the resolution at 1.55%.
100% of registered independents voted for the resolution.

Like I said, you’ve gotta cherish those small victories, no matter how negligible.

If you think this is going to be a victory you've been letting the wrong people tell you what to think.

Time will tell, I am not the one trying to celebrate because a democrat changed his party affiliations to independent.

A purely political partisan vote. How sad.

I agree republicans not upholding their constitutional duties to defend the nation from domestic attack is sad.
    Sickening actually.

The Republicans, two Democrats and one independent that voted no to impeachment inquiry is a nonpartisan vote, not partisan.

    Try to keep up.

Two assertions, really. But he has been kind enough to explain that it was a BS post meant to illustrate a point about the post to which he was responding, so no matter.

    Facts are not your friend.
    Zero independents voted no.

    Zero.

    Making the procedure bipartisan.

Wait. You guys realize this guy is just a Senator in the State government, not Congress, right? This doesn’t change anything in DC.
