Sorry but the First Amendment says you have the right to free exercise of your religion, and that the state cannot interfere. That means they can't interfere at school. That is the government.
But it's something we have a constitutional right to practice without interference from the government. That means in schools.
In fact, there was a time when the Church believed the purpose of the heart was to be a place for the soul to reside. This "soul" would direct the activities of the body, as the human body could certainly not make complex decisions or independently set out on a mission/task. The driving force would be that soul. I don't know if the expression is that old, but ...
Giving high grades on tests for religious answers is in effect teaching religion. Think what that would mean in any class. One could be an A student witout actually learning the material being taught. Plus, instructors would have a hard time grading tests, due to not being steeped in the thousands of Earthly religions. If someone takes a science class they should be expected to learn how science works. If someone takes a religion class, they should be expected to learn how the religion works.
Sorry the state has no business interfering with religious beliefs. The Constitution says what it says. So someone's religious beliefs negate Science? Explain What relevance does this have?
Spouting religious dogma in place of accepted scientific facts when engaging in an academic performance test is not a function of free speech. Its a function of idiotic willful ignorance.
sad, they are there to learn about the subject, if they want excused from the lesson have at it, but giving the wrong answer is unacceptable
I think this group is a different group of nuts, the group of people that say math is racist are not the same group, these are religious nuts
and you know some kids gonna have fun with this one - why study science when you can study FSM and pass - I do not think this will last long as people will realize the error of their ways when people make a mockery of it and other religions take advantage of it as well
So..........because there is one idiot somewhere does that mean we can give a free pass to all idiots everywhere?
Says the same people who tell us the earth is 6,000 years old and dinosaurs were human pets. Keep swingin' you're bound to hit one every once in a while.
save it for Sunday school - it's sad that some people think Sunday schools sucks so bad they want the government schools to teach religion for them
a person is free to answer a question wrong, but it's still wrong now when teaching about the weather a kid can just say it's God crying if they don't know the answer - instant credit for the question
No i just think a creationist answer on a test or essay regarding origins is legitimate . If it's well writren and justified.
if it's wrong, it's wrong, it would be against church and state to allow religious people to get credit even though they got the answer wrong like I said, I am ok with excusing a religious person from a subject, but not giving them credit for it as if they learned the subject being taught when they got the questions wrong what's next? doctors that believe God heals not having to pass the tests, is that the kinda doctor you want, one that got a degree showing they knew the medical science, that really just answered religious nonsense on his tests and was passed anyways
It's only your opinion thst it's wrong Evolution as the origin of everything is an unproven theory.. Now if the question is specifically about the theory of evolution as the origin of everything then you are right. But if the question is how did life happen then s creationists answer well written should be accepted.
