I think Trump should approach RGB and ask her to retire so she can focus on her health and enjoy the rest of her life. BUT in doing so he should promise in a legally binding way not to replace her unless he wins the election on 2020.
He wouldn't have a choice the nominee has to come from the President. Believe it or not my idea comes from compassion for RGB.
Kudos to you. If more people focused on doing what was right or compassionate instead of scoring a “win” by any means possible this country would be in much better position. Civility is missing from our politics.
No, the honorable thing to do would be to tweet that he's nominating someone at least as conservative as Scalia or Thomas the minute her death is confirmed, and ram it down Schumer's throat immediately if not sooner.
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.. Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice,
What the hell that has to do with anything I said, none will ever know. I might. If I feel like it. You're missing the point by a country mile. It's not about gloating, it's about treating America's enemies like enemies, and ruthlessly waging a cold civil war so we don't have to have the real deal.
Oh, I thought you were trying to highlight the point that republicans had sold their integrity to “win”, that it was not allegorical and is actually indicative of your thought further reinforces the point. Since you believe that anyone not on the right is an enemy of the nation but the nation is more center and left than rightwing wouldn’t that make you the enemy of the nation? I mean you are calling for war, that is something an enemy would do.
I absolutely believe in your sincerity, but we have a president who has no honor and a majority leader in the senate who has none, and there is no 'legally binding' way to enforce such an agreement in court. Your idea may have worked had any number of republican presidents been in that office and any number of republican candidates won that 2016 primary because many would have the reputation of keeping their word. Donald trump is not someone who can make that deal happen. .
Things like @yguy posted is why many American’s believe the right is abandoning integrity and civility. Republican’s went from this being a central component of their party platform to not even on the radar. I wish there were enough on the right that shared your notion but I am afraid there are not.
