There's a rumor that Flynn was targeted because he favored auditing the intel agencies. No telling how long the illegal unmasking, spying and FISA dirty tricks have been going on.

 

Attorneys say a lot of things. If it's proven, then those who threatened his son should be punished. Not sure what the charge is regarding in "manipulating the press?" Perhaps, a judge would throw the verdict out...perhaps not. Suppose it's possible they pressured him into confessing he lied because they didn't want to expose classified information regarding how they knew. My understanding, from something I read, was that we had access to the Russian Ambassador's report of his conversation with Flynn to his boss in Moscow - i.e. not wasn't a direct tap on the conversation itself.

 

Flynn was targeted because he called the Russian PM on the same day that Obama announced sanctions, told them not to react, and then lied about that conversation to multiple people.
