Australian Taliban hostage Timothy Weeks believes US Navy SEALs tried to rescue him six times

Maybe the Seals don't always get their man. Don't get me wrong....In no way am I dissing them at all, but....this might go to show that not all efforts made actually succeed. Of course, the assumption made by the Aussie that they were Seals could be totally wrong.

At least he was looked after by the Taliban and not shot by some ********, later pardoned by his Leader, despite the war crime.

 

Oh yeah, the Taliban are just SSOOOooo "compassionate" to their captives. Do i even need to re eterate the things they are, well known to do? Beheadings, tossing of roofs, burning alive, drowning in cages. Screw them, they ask for any acts of savagery the recieve. Seems someone is cheering for the wrong team.

Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will still have to face a court-martial over leaving his post in Afghanistan in 2009, a step he says he took to draw attention to alleged problems within the military.

Bergdahl, who grew up in Hailey, and his legal team in late 2016 asked former President Barack Obama for a pre-emptive pardon of his charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy.

Tuesday and Thursday this week, Obama granted commutations and pardons to about 600 people. Bergdahl wasn’t on the list.

Obama handed over 5 of the enemy to the Taliban to get back this deserter.

 

I have been questioned as to if Obama promoted this traitor.

As president, all promotions are essentially stamped with the presidents approval.

Congress first approves allocations for EM ranks to be promoted which is passed along to the various service branches. I handled this as Company Clerk with the First Sgt and CO being my boss. They wouild talk over who gets promoted.

Can you see a unit commander wanting to promote a damned traitor? I sure can't. It would be taken up to the President. If he put the squash on it, it would not happen. Obama fell in love with this clown. He was put on trial and his punishment was he was kicked out.

Remember what Eisenhower had done to Private Eddie Slovik? Who ran to evade combat. He was shot. Bergdahl gets a hero's welcome by the White house. And you like Obama?

It wouldn't surprise me if the SEALs or Army Delta Force tried to rescue them multiple times.

Also, it doesn't surprise me that he said good things about his captors. It is common for prisoners to develop positive feelings for their captors, unless they are deliberately mistreated. It is also common for the captor to develop positive feelings about their prisoners. This doesn't surprise me.

 

Stockholm Syndrome. If he never saw anyone who they were fighting with how does he know they were seals? Could have been anyone, even the people his captors told him it was. But that does not make a good story.

Wiki them yourself. They stopped the hijacking of aid convoys after the US pulled out of Afghanistan and left it utterly lawless. These orphaned students didn't get it right, but their intention was to restore some semblance of law and order to Afghanistan.

ISIS put a lot of effort into video production during their executions of hostages. I have seen them all, these animals are not only sick, they are pure cowards.

The Taliban do the same thing without cameras filming the same sick, cowardly, barbaric acts.

Taliban has been confined to Afghanistan since 1989... ISIS are formerly Baathist soldiers in Saddam's military. Do you know anything about the Middle East? ISIS didn't exist before Bush's invasion in Iraq.

I do not think the Trump admin would tell the truth about a failed mission, but he would try to take credit for a successful one

he visited the troops on Thanksgiving and instead of thanking them, told them they should be thankful for the good work Trump has done - sad

 

ISIS was a few lunatics in a pickup truck and an apartment before Obama let them spread like the plague they were.
It took Trump to wipe them out by letting our US military do what they need to do by wiping out the ROE put in place by the military hating/downsizing embarrassment called Obama.
