As if conservatives were so gracious judging WH decorations when the Obamas inhabited the place: https://www.investors.com/fiscal-cliff-talks-stall-as-obama-white-house-erects-its-own-tree-grove/ But, continue calling others haters, if it rocks your boat. The reality is that the way Christmas is portrayed in the WH has nothing to do with actual Christmas spirit. It's just a manifestation of consumerism that is on display in EVERY store in the country. Profits first....
That really is beautiful. It does scream excess, but its still undeniably stunning. I looked back at past White House Christmas themes and they are all stunning. The Obamas had statues of Bo in some of their displays. That alone shows how decent they were.
Really? I don't see a red Christmas tree in my house in the near (or far) future... But since it did bring many the visual of Handmaids Tale, I'll assume that's the future you are referring to... https://www.salon.com/2018/11/27/me...kes-visions-of-handmaids-tale-across-twitter/ Not if I have anything to say about it...
A few years ago someone gave us a small table top "Christmas " tree made of red berries. I hated it but my wife would put it out since a family member gave it to us. It started "falling " and berries would break off when I carried it down to the basement after New Years until that Communist tree finally died. The aunt who gave it to us died also. Anyone remember the stupid aluminum foil trees of the 1950's?
Nobody cared about that , they are Christmas decorations for the love of god. The fact that Christmas decorations tick you off , i rest my case.
I am not in on that holiday so the hatred for me from so many of the Right and Fox News, etc., but this WH decorating is definitely classy! Nice work, for First Lady and associates! The only sadness for this display is the high probability that, before or during Christmas, the POTUS is going to do another display of McDonald's Hamburgers, Fries, Cheeseburgers and all the other Christmas Goodies Santa will put under our America's Tree! Some cynics may say that Santa sent these goodies all wrapped in, rather than golden paper and colorful string, but instead will be giving the advertising from the McDonald's Corporation for every little boy and girl! The cynical me could not resist from putting $20 that it will Santa will be before that time. There is a rumor that every time there is a national display of McDonald's cuisine from the POTUS, the Elves build another floor on the next Trump Tower (or equivalent). Merry Christmas to America!
Lol...Not if you’re trump. The gaudier the better, and melania is a good trophy wife so she does her bit.
And a very Merry Christmas to all of you. Sorry if those words or images are offensive to some. Get over your tragic landslide election loss in 2016. Nice job First Lady.
that would be a standard salon response, its an absolutely terrible website unless you like the idea of staying awake at night fearing Trump, white people and the climate Apocalypse, so if fear mongering is anyone's cup of tea then its a perfect fit.
Very nice - love the decorations and the theme. Congratulations to the First Lady and WH staff. Now, if they could only do something about all the crass commercialization that is killing my Christmas mood...
I just picked Salon because I like their headline... the Handmaid's Tales references were mostly from the Twittersphere, not from any media outlet... it happened... Salon didn't make it happen. https://www.usatoday.com/story/life...te-house-christmas-handmaids-tale/2120935002/ https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/han...trump-defends-red-christmas/story?id=59472418 https://metro.co.uk/2018/11/26/mela...o-characters-from-the-handmaids-tale-8179981/
Yes. The decorations look amazing. I also find it absolutely amazing that the Fashion Industry has ostracized her. They have missed a monster opportunity not featuring her, because.... "Get Woke"!
Why must you try to politicize everything? That is why you made this post. There is nothing political about it at all until you made it that way.
Red and green are the Christmas colors. The History of Christmas Colors—and Why They're Red and Green—Is Actually Fascinating It simply doesn’t feel like Christmas without having the halls (or whatever wall and counter space you do have) decked out in red and green Christmas decorations. https://www.countryliving.com/entertaining/a29622860/christmas-colors-red-green/
I think it would be the leftist proclaiming their objection to it being a holiday and a day off because it is religious in nature.
