He did meet Jesus. He also met the other Apostles and they approved of his message and ministry.

Nope it's an action. No action no love

    More specifically it's sacrificial action..

If it costs you nothing it's not love

And if you want to get technical about it. The old testament is Jesus's teachings too.

Hey...I am not attacking your blind guesses. They may even be correct...although they do sound like most mythology.,

But don't get all out of sorts over it.

In any case, your "definition" of evidence is laughable...

...and at no point is there EVIDENCE that Jesus said ANYTHING about abortion or homosexuality.

    Have a great day.

You would offer scriptural proof it it existed...

    ...which it doesn't.

Yeah...my point is that Jesus is not recorded as saying anything about abortion or homosexuality.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to repeat that.

    Be more careful with language:

    Love...is a four letter word.

And "commitment" is what happens to people deemed to be a danger to self and others.

Actually, there isn't a dimes worth of difference between the OT and the new if you don't fixate on how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.

Oh...I thank you for that. And don't bother to say, "You're welcome." You can maintain the fiction that you are not reading what I write.

And if you take things in context..

    Who they were written to
    Why they were written
    Etc.

And that, my friend, is the whole purpose of exegesis - what was the author saying to his audience, not "what kind of idiocy can some English speaking idiot from the 21st century make of this?" .

Exegesis has gone off the rails in many institutions of higher spurning.

    Then it's not exegesis.

Not sure abortions were a big thing, back in his day.

Others back then disagree with you...and "the others" probably know more about what was or was not a "big thing" back then.

Obviously not, as I've provided none. What you are attacking is statements of fact that fly in the face of your prejudices...

...and trust me, I'm plenty OK with that. 8)
No doubt the association is impressive to the shallow of mind.
Pilgrim, I've been debating atheists online for almost two decades; and trust me, you have yet to bring anything new to the y-man's table.
Hey, I'm not the one who thinks a shipload of nothing qualifies as evidence.
Actually there is, in the OT; but regardless, one would not reasonably expect Him to be giving it much attention in a culture where Mosaic law was still nominally in force, at least for Jews.

All that aside, it's not words on paper, regardless of authorship, that make homosexuality or abortion or anything else abominations, it's their objective maleficence as revealed by the light of conscience.

C'mon, Man...don't let the heat get to you.

I've been debating atheists longer than you...and probably do a better job of it. I am not an atheist.

And of of course you have been presenting guesses.

You guess there is a "God."

You guess the Bible tells you what pleases and offends this god.

You guess the Bible tells you what the god expects of humans...and what the god will do to people who disappoint it.

You are a fountain of guesses.

Hey...if the guesses help make you happy...and help you to cope...I support your guessing. My personal opinion is that bringing your guesses to an Internet forum for discussion and attempting to present them as more than merely guesses...is probably the wrong way to go.

    What heat would that be?
    No you don't, trust me.
    I doubt it.
No, I don't. I know it for sure.
    No, I don't.
Like the stereotypical atheist, you are a fountain of projection.
If your guesses make you happy, and help you to cope, then you put whatever passes for your sanity at risk by engaging the y-man.
Then presumably I won't be hearing from you again, in which case, happy trails.

Back then being a childless woman was at least as much of a taboo as being a motherless child.
