This is why Democrats impeachment of Trump is a lie and fails

Democrats overall charge is clear, they are claiming Trump withheld funds from Ukraine to gain an advantage in the 2020 election by having Ukraine investigate Biden.

Here is the big lie by the Democrats:

lie #1: The evidence shows Trump acted to gain a political advantage.

NONE of the evidence shows that, at most it can arguably show Trump wanted to investigate Biden, THERE is no evidence he did it to gain an advantage for 2020.

Trump can certainly investigate Biden. He just can’t do so to gain a political advantage. Democrats can offer nothing to contradict that Trump didn’t look into Biden because of his concerns for corruption.

There is no evidence Trump did it to benefit his 2020 campaign. NONE. Yet Democrats keep lying and claiming they have strong evidence of this.

I have yet to see any testimonial regarding Trump’s intent, just that he wanted an investigation into Biden, which he can 100% do, he just can’t do it with the intent of personal benefit.

Here are legitimate reasons to look into Biden:

1) The people who voted for Trump demands it. Trump has a duty to act on behalf of his promises. His base demands an investigation into Biden. His job is to act on behalf of his supporters. He can certainly investigate Biden because republicans want to root out democratic corruption.

Trump has also historically done this (he investigated Obama’s place of birth.

2) He legitimately cares about corruption and he wants Joe investigated to determine corruption

3) He doesn’t like Joe Biden ( not a good reason but certainly not a impeachable reason )

At the end of the day, Democrats have nothing.

 

If he was interested in pursuing a corruption claim against Biden,WHY did he not do it in 2017 or 2018???Why did he wait until Biden jumped into the presidential race and some polls were showing Biden beating him???

 

The Democrats are on solid ground.

The Republicans defending Trump are on the ground...grovelling.

This is from the transcript of the July 25 phone call between Trump and Zelensky. It was provided by the White House. The following is a quote from Trump.

After the July 25 phone call with Zelensky, as he usually does, Trump doubled down on the Biden investigation. On Oct. 3, in a news conference on the White House lawn, he called on Ukraine and China to look into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

“If they were honest about it, they would start a major investigation into the Bidens,” Trump said when asked what he wanted Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to do about the former veep and his son.

“They should investigate the Bidens,” Trump said. “Likewise, China should start an investigation into the Bidens, because what happened in China is just about as bad as what happened with Ukraine.”

There is no getting around it. It is all well and good that Republicans can say Trump did nothing to cause his removal from office, but if the Republicans in the Senate exonerate Trump, if Trump's fans continue to insist impeachment is a sham, then the Republican Party and Trump's fans are saying:

A) The President is permitted to ask for foreign interference in our elections to improve his chances of winning.

B) The President is permitted to use military aid approved by Congress to a country fighting Russian aggression as a means of extortion to compel a foreign leader to comply with his wishes.

C) To cover up his deeds, the President is permitted to use obstruction of justice.

D) The President is permitted to ignore Congressional oversight as mandated by our Constitution.

Is this what the Republican Party wants to be remember for?

 

Has Trump shown any interest in investigating ANYONE for corruption who was not a direct political opponent? (Remember he also asked China publicly to investigate Biden and Warren..)?

Trump's own people testified under oath that he ONLY cared about the PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT ...not the investigation itself. That is NOT the action of someone who cares about corruption. It's the action of someone looking for political advantage.

Why did Trump wait till NOW to all of a sudden become so interested in corruption?

Why did Trump ignore the fact that the DOD had certified that corruption was not an issue here? MONTHS before....

Two reasons. First the Biden quid pro quo was finally reported on. Ukrainians did conspire with democrats to affect the 2016 election which was also recently uncovered.

 

Trump did not use the word, "corruption," in his April 21 call to Zelensky.

Trump did not use the word, "corruption," in his July 25 call to Zelensky.

Please explain what needs to be investigated. Trump and Republicans defending him have not told us what the Bidens did wrong.

 

Prove it. Provide an article from 2016 showing that the Ukrainian government interfered in our 2016 election.

We all know the Russians did with Trump's endorsement. In a news conference in July 2016, Trump made a direct appeal to Russia.
“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Now you show us the Ukrainians did it. How can it be "recently uncovered?" What, did they interfere in our election and nobody knew about it?

 

No investigation = no proof. The dem clown show is inferring that no investigation = exoneration.

 

If Trump wants to harm his political opponent, why not wait until the democratic primary is over, and get Ukraine to investigate the winner?

Voters are also notorious for having a short memory, it'd be much more beneficial to get the announcement towards voting time.

1) Trump was ALWAYS interested in corruption; he investigated Obama's origin of birth before he ever ran for president, and he wanted Hillary locked up for her corruption.

2) Trump is the head of state, he doesn't have to listen to agencies telling him there's no corruption. He gets to tell them where the corruption is. He's the boss.

3) The public announcement is enough to get people to look into. I'd want a public announcement too if I was concerned about corruption, even if Ukraine doesn't look into it, at least it will warn the American people and maybe get media outlets to start looking into it and bring down Biden and find the corruption.

Trump also promised his voters that he will investigate, Obama, Clinton, and the corrupted Bidens. Trump has repeatedly stated as early as 2016, he will investigate dirty democrats.

 

So in your mind for it to be okay...

1) I want you to investigate Biden: NOT OKAY

2) I want you to investigate Biden because he corrupted: OKAY!

Pretty sure wanting an Biden investigation implies the word corrupted in there.

 

You have no proof that was political. A lot of people thought Obama wasn't born in the U.S. (a lot still do), and Trump also didn't think he was born in U.S., Trump wasn't even running at that time, and that was WAY before he ever announced he would run.

Trump never asked for an investigation. He just wanted Zelensky to make a public statement that he was going to do an investigation.

 

It wasn't political, it was about the Constitution.
