You are an outlier. When I first voted at 19 my vote was about who would be best for my future and political agenda.
I started reading newspapers at the age of 10 so when I turned 18 I was politically astute and voted for the one who talked to the people and not the bumper sticker crap we still see today. I voted for Reagan.
Something called a Constitutional amendment, and the only way to get rid of it is another Constitutional amendment. That said, personally, I think 18 year olds should have all the rights to buy/own things that any other citizen can buy/own. Personally, I don't think it's equal protection under the law.
Things involving drugs should be put to 21 (but all legal after that) to prevent 18 year old juniors and seniors from giving their under age friends the drugs. Same with guns and other weapons.
I do not support this law, the age of being an adult is 18, that should be the age to buy adult things
if you raise the age to go into the military to 21... sure if one is too young to vape, they are too young to join the military
Good eye, you actually noticed? It seems today as it was in the 1980s people bum me for a smoke all the time and I don't pay attention till a few left.
I don't think this will have any effect on the industry. Most people start smoking around the age 12 or 13. If you've gone to 18 without having a smoking habit you probably won't. Making it illegal makes it cooler. And since 12 and 13 year olds have been getting the cigarettes for decades I don't think there's anything to stop an 18 year old from doing it.
This is interesting ( I am in no means trying to degrade you) I used to read the newspapers around 7 years old, had subscriptions to popular mechanics, popular science, national Enquirer at that age as well.
I delivered the Sacramento Bee from the age of 12-16. I would read it each day and get mad. I just felt the Left wing spin on everything. Then one day as a Junior in High School, my Step-Dad (Father to me) said, "you have to hear this guy on the radio". Well, it was a local host in Sacramento. His name was Rush Limbaugh. It was AMAZING to finally hear all the stuff you knew the MSM was not telling you. The rest is history as Rush went national and took over.
Did you ever get to listen to wolf man Jack on AM? He used to love to play politics in a singular way under the fairness doctrine, so did Larry lujack .
Oh great..... Buttigieg and Warren will now want to give reparations to people who smoked before they were 21.
The tobacco companies should be forced to pay all the medical fees of everyone who has smoked and gotten sick because of it. Then when they are done, shut them down.
Nope cars actually serve a purpose that enhances human life. Guns Tobacco Alcohol all do nothing but end or mame life.
Oh I see, thanks! I was thinking of all the jobs lost, taxes not paid ect.. My bad. Who needs freedom?
I couldn’t agree with you more on smoking. I hate everything about smoking !!!! You can’t smoke in bars anymore but it is ok for parents to drive around in a car smoking with an infant in a car seat. I use to be that kid & I suffered from bronchitis on a regular basis for years. I never smoked and I never had bronchitis again until after I moved out at 18. That was back in the 60’s & 70’s when most adults smoked.
