Putin is dreaming. That is never going to happen. Bitching about a pipeline won't cause that big of a problem.

Why exactly? We see Trump as threat for our nation. He gets so deranged, that he believes he can sanction a german energy project and tried to force Germany to accept american LNG, which is 30% more expensive. I guess you understand that doesnt create friendly feelings here?

You consider THAT a threat to Germany? Seems really alarmist. Especially given how strong the German economy is supposed to be.

You guys are forcing the yanks to provide security to the NATO alliance. I guess you understand that doesn't create friendly feelings there?

A foreign power trying to force is to do something is not a threat?

According to CSU Stoiber right now Trump is the danger for us, not Putin or Xi.

Here's the difference: I'm not sure if we can trust Kim Jong with nuclear warheads, or Putin for that matter. Xi is currently running concentration camps, called himself 'President for life' and is currently oppressing the will of the people in Hong Kong.

By comparison, Trump is a kitten.

No, thats you yourself. You can drop your NATO committment down to zero. Its not like we force you to do it.

We force you nothing. If you believe you pay too much into defense, i advise you to drop what you invest in defense.

In the US, the legislative branch controls legislation. While Trump could theoretically veto, the bill passed with over 2/3rds majority in the Senate. A veto would be both symbolic and yet pointless.

By and large, our contentions lie with the European Union(and these issues were brought up before with President Obama.) Germany is merely a part of the EU, but it is not the country of our ire. That's probably why the difference in American sentiment vs German sentiment. Germany exists as a part of a bloc called the EU, whilst America is its own nation.

If Germany did a Ger-exit(like Brexit), I think Germany could find itself in better relations.

No, this is an attack against Germany. Germany is an independend nation. Trump constantly attacks Germany. The Nordstream II attack is just the most severe one, because it targets our freedom.

If Germany did a Ger-exit, it would become much worse, because we would lose our ability to strike back at same might.

On paper Germany and US are allies but in reality Trump attacks us worse than Iran or Russia.

Don't blame Germany because you dislike someone whose ancestry is based there. Using the same logic, should we who despise Obama blame Africa for him...?

No. If Germany is strong enough it should not matter at all.

If it doesn't matter it is not a threat Sobo.

A difference that makes no difference is no difference.

    @Sobo

Know what might be cool? A German/Russian alliance. No more American capitalists pigdogs holding you down. You team up with Putin and the conservatives, especially me, would look hella stupid if that happened.

Maybe come up with your own globalist treaty? Bet you could totally get Russia and China to join you Germans.

Wrong. Its an attack in an intensity that was unknown before. So it is a threat. Who knows how far USA will go? Maybe sabotage our pipeline grid ect?

Thats what China and Russia want. Thing is, we were 70 years allied with USA. So its strange that appears to end now.

    We're totally cool with that.

I'm sure nobody has nothing to worry about.

    Why care?

I wonder where Russia got their hypersonic missiles?

Nice spin on the words there.
Germany is on the list for being 5/6 most powerful economy. Depending on who you use. Being that that they're part of the EU, that makes them 2nd. Nice spin.

Sobo never defines the words he uses to make his argument, "threat", "powerful" etc.
