As an ex drug addict I have to correct you, smoking crack is used in shooters small pipes for example a 10 mm deep well socket,( its small)meth users use big ass glass pipes, so do pot smokers with four foot bongs Vaping is harmless to them or anyone around them, it just looks weird
Love your wanting to have two classes of citizens. This is unconstitutional under equal protection under the law. I wish some 18 year olds would sue over this.
I disagree, at least for people my age (54) and younger. I cannot remember not knowing that cigarettes were bad for you. Warning labels have been on cigarettes since I was 4 years old. I suppose you also think food manufacturers should be punished for selling fattening foods....
While it doesn't smell like smoke, I find most vapes to smell obnoxious second hand. Those cheap fruity flavors just don't smell good.
Every person is responsible for keeping themselves financially stable for their entire life once their childhood and teenage years until eighteen are complete. Sometimes they lose their sight or an arm or leg at work and the government steps in to help them.
They been called coughin' nails and cancer sticks for at least since 1900. Folks got wisdom, if not the discipline to abide by that wisdom. Dean Martin knew damn well that he was harming himself.
Consider that Obama believed that a 26 year old should still be covered by his/her parent's health insurance.
A small step forward for the big government nanny state so loved by liberals and fake conservatives - but nonetheless a step in the wrong direction.
Die for your country at 18. But no drinking or smoking until 21. A perfect example of why government sucks.
How many middle age people could pass a military PT test I read Popular Science as a kid. Great magazine.
I imagine it already has been litigated. States have limited sales of those under 21 for a decade or more.
I'm assuming that this would apply to fog machines also or did they not think that far ahead or even do some basic research. That's what I thought.
It's not good for 18 years teens and even for adults, but perhaps they consider the mature thinking of adults either consume it in moderation or entirely inhibit themselves from using it. According to research this recreational item is very addictive and harmful and it is not even helpful with the cost of tobacco illnesses for it will only add more towards the same problem as with tobacco and cigarettes. https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/economics/econ_facts/index.htm
I have not heard one individual or any heath authority, any institution government or otherwise, suggest that vaping is good for your health. (I could be wrong). So we're justified in asking whether its harmful to the health of the nation. I use the word nation deliberately as it separates the individual from everybody else. Governments serve the national interest and become 'nannies' which is why in the UK smokers and vapers can only smoke in the street or private home. Absolutely every public building is smoke free including every workplace private or otherwise.. (parks are still ok). How nanny is that, ironically it has the support of the overwhelming majority including smokers. Does the US have such nanny interventions ? And are they welcome ? HappyNY
I had a sociology teacher in High School who asked the class if governors should be placed on cars to limit speed to 20 MPH so as to save 20,000 livers per year. Of course, all the kids in the class were aghast at the idea of driving such a car. Now that most young people seem to be liberals, I wonder what the reaction would be today to the same question?
Militaries must be made up of young people. So that they obey orders, NOT make life and death decisions.
If alcohol and Tobacco were not discovered until the 20th century they would have been banned. No reason to keep these companies who kill 9M a year combined world wide alive in the states.
"Back in 1984, it was estimated that the 55 mph speed limit saved up to 4,000 lives per year. One can reasonably extrapolate that, given the increase in the number of drivers on our highways during the past two decades, we could save even more lives today if we slowed down. Fewer collisions will also keep roadways clear and keep traffic moving, saving everyone time on the road." https://www.usnews.com/opinion/arti...es-economic-political-and-environmental-sense If you did 57 mph on a major road in Bill Clinton's Arkansas you were just about guaranteed a ticket.
Jesus 9 billion dollars on marketing alone of a product that just produces water vapor? I remember when bottled water became popular came out, I thought who would pay a $1 dollar for that?
Fitness and the ability to pass a PT test are generally speaking attributes of younger people. The Milgram experiment suggests people by nature will obey orders. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milgram_experiment
I remember the strict enforcement of a 55 max speed limit. It was met with disdain by the general public but did lead to a couple of hit songs.
