It’s None Of My Business If Homeless People Use The Money I Give Them For Drugs

Is it anyone's business what the homeless spend money on? Would you care if it went to drugs? Weren't we told in the 1980's that the homeless population was in the millions?

 

Its called enabling them

It is compassionate to give them a meal, but it is foolish to give them money.

 

I give a buck or two to panhandlers, at times. (not rich myself, by a long shot) I could care less what they do with it. If you care, dont give cash, simple.

A while back when I was living in CA, a very religious co-worker and I were walking into a McDonald's when a homeless guy said he needed money for food. My co-worker friend said to come in with us and he would buy him a burger but the homeless guy wanted cash. My friend refused to give him cash and he even told the homeless guy he had no problem helping him gut something to eat but he wasn't going to pay for his drugs. The homeless guy got aggressive and started to demand the money and for a while I thought the two of them were going to get into a fist fight. Since that occurred I have never handed money to a guy on the street.

 

Is it money you give them or is it money Democrats confiscate under the lie they need it to govern? I must be smarter than you since I can find a better use for my money than to give it to drug dealers through loser Democrats.

 

I could delete some cookies, but WaPo is not worth my time any more than it's worth my money.

 

Not all of them are addicts, just 90%. The other 10% are so mentally ill that they refuse the aid of preexisting homeless shelters and charities all over the country, let alone the families that many of them have.

By and large, like the rest of us, the homeless -choose- their lifestyle. If they choose poorly in an antisocial way, they should not be encouraged.

I can't recall the last time I saw a "homeless person starves to death" article. Wonder why not? Surely it happens, and surely any such would be picked up by the LW sewer pipe and blared out for a week.

 

Because it's incredibly cruel and heartless to enable people to harm themselves. You may as well just kill them yourself.

Quite a few of them are veterans. What a nice way for "patriots" to use them up and spit them out.

 

The issue is possible lawsuit(s). You feed a guy and he get sick, he could turn around and use you.

 

Veterans or anyone else who do not avail themselves of existing, ample aid, safety nets and benefits for whatever reason are not my problem or any "patriot's" problem either, but the big blue cities that allow unsafe vagrancy. You can lead a horse to water...

 

I see..."patriots" only "care" for veterans who "seek help" for themselves? Ridiculous. Those that suffers from PTSD and mental issues cannot seek help for themselves and the government have failed them bigly. The VA have been a farce for decades.

 

I give money to those that actually need it not the substance abusers that are so transparent in their requests. I get yelled at once by a panhandler because I told him I would get him some bread and lunch meat.

 

We collect taxes, but not to support drug habits. We are not responsible for the $250B we pay to support the drug habits of the Democrats' illegal aliens. Unlike Democrats, we don't support the illegal entry of MS-13 and Democrats' other crime partners. Democrats need the murderers to create a demand for confiscating firearms from law abiding citizens. Fascism has its requirements, and confiscating the means for law abiding citizens to defend themselves and their families is a requirement. Just ask Eric Holder and Ruler for Life Obama.

And note also that these "homeless problems" aren't prevalent many places other than the big blue cities. Thousands of veterans in my county, no homeless problem. But sure, it's all about the VA and not the corrupt Democrat-governed cities. yeah.

So red states have zero homeless population? Why does the republican governors don't clean house?? Homelessness is a nationwide issue, not just in democrat governed cities like you asserted.

 

I agree. I keep a few bucks in my wallet for panhandlers. It's not my job to judge.
