On January 2, 2020 Donald Trump ordered a drone attack on Iranian General Quassem Soleimani, killing him and an Iraqi general. He didn't consult Congress before carrying out this mission. I believe this drone attack was a serious mistake. My heart goes out to the people of Iran, Iraq and to our military personnel. Please vote in my poll and add your thoughts. Thank you.
He killed a terrorist.. that's all. It was the right thing to do. And the correct response from Iran is to acknowledge the guy was up to no good and do nothing about it.
Few people seem to think that Iran won't have a response. Did you see how US military personnel is being moved into the area already?
We can't control what Iran does. However if they choose to be stupid and continue their evil ways screw them whatever we do to them is their fault.
Wag the dog. He's doing the opposite to what he promised when he was campaigning for the job. Why is no one surprised?
If we do the right thing it doesn't matter what the rest of the world thinks. The Iranians are acting the way they are now because for the last 11 years the message they have recieved is that you can be as bad as you want and no one will do a thing.
What is to me interesting is that the protections that now surround our top leaders up to the President does not assume that the resources of a nation state would be behind assassination attempts on those leaders. Seem now that we are openly in the business of killing foreign nation state leaders we had likely had open a can of worms.
Wonder if your heart went out to all the Americans this SOB had killed or maimed? You don't even know yet what his future plans for America were. Iran has always been a lot of blather. They don't want their oil fields destroyed. They probably won't do anything. If they don't, the Democrats will once again shine like the silly fools they are. If they do, I think Trump will break their back and pro-western Iranians will overwhelm the regimme.
you will see Trump praising dictators like Kim and Putin though, sad! you will see Trump try to invite the Taliban to the white house on the week of 9-11 as well - sad! but that is neither here nor there in this issue, only time will tell how this action will play out in the short and long term
nothing wrong with that, he told them 'no, maybe later'.... better than Trump saying yes to whatever Putin wants
I'm sure Putin thrilled at the idea of Trump giving real weapons to Ukraine instead of just "blankets" like Barrack Hussein Obama.
How would it be their destruction? The US government would have no moral high ground and somehow I can not see the US population as a whole supporting actions that would get thousands of US military kill even under the best of conditions.
