Base line to build from? It needs to be built anew. The last Iran deal was unrealistic with stipulations granted from inception that presumed Iran would eventually possess atomic weapons. That's a nonstarter.

I posted a YouTube video of the Ayatollah unhinged and diagnosable. There is no rational mind on the earth that would agree to that walnut having a personal critical pile of fissile material and a device to smash it together on the same continent much less in the same room with his idiot friends.

 

It would take considerable skill to hit right on the base but manage to miss every single person on purpose. They would have to know the location of every person on the basis at the time of impact.

Yes, I can see how you would see it that way, but not just your post, their side's gloating. As far as I know now no body bags of our troops, yet, if that changes, the 52 cites should probably involve ports..., any asset they have to attack the straits...then go after any known nuke sites. This could get ugly real quick, I would rather have our troops out of there first, so this becomes a Naval and Air Force war.

Germany was informed from Iran 15 minutes before the attack happened. At that base are 100 german soldiers and this shows exactly why it matters to have allies who have open channels to both sides.

USA cant afford war with Iran, Iran cant afford war with USA. After the General was killed, Iran had to answer. By informing Germany before the attack, this allows a face saving solution for both sides.

German defense minister AKK said, that the development shows, that Iran answered in a way that prevents a further collapse into a military conflict.

That Trump offered Iran again negotiations and even cooperation in certain areas may give a opportunity to end this bullshit for good.

We have more common ground with Iran than with any other nation in the middle east. Thats a matter of fact.

Germany has excellent relations to Israel. We even supply them with their defense submarines.

 

I don't believe there are any Patriot batteries in Iraq, although there is at least one in Saudi Arabia. However that may soon be corrected.

I will have to double check, but I have read the base (a US renovated air base housing not only many US soldiers but also drones and planes), was supposed to be equipped to protect itself against missile attacks.

Incidentally, this youtube uses satellite imagery to show you the 'before' and 'after' images for the areas hit on the base.

In negotiations, you don’t get everything you want. Even if the Iran deal didn’t prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons in definitely, it halted the process for the time being. It provided the U.S. time develop a sound long-term strategy. With the deal having been ripped apart now, the chances of another agreement, especially with the Trump administration are slim. So what’s the course of action now?
