Nothing depends on Bolton testifying. Absolutely not’n. Bolton will get his 10 minutes of fame and... President Trump will be acquitted.

Are you telling me that if Bolton swears before the Senate that Trump told him that aid was suspended to lever Zelensky into announcing an inquiry into Biden, and Trump does not swear a denial, that Trump ought to remain as POTUS and not be booted out on his huge/arse?

If any R senators vote to convict, the vitriol aimed at them from Trump and his cult will be 100 times worse than anything any D senators will face if they vote to acquit.

Bolton isn't going to testify and even if he does and gives Dem new hope by claiming Trump talked to him about holding up aid for a Biden investigation it makes no difference. A president says all sort of things to trusted cabinet members, doesn't mean he acts on them. Recall Trump in a fit of rage talking about firing Mueller, but he didn't. Same here.

 

But it is you who should be smart enough to get my point. 35 Congressional Reps abandoned Trump in 2018 and allowed incumbent seats to be flipped. Just because they were sure Trump will not last 6 months. How many of his administration were exposed as spies, Dem operatives or neverTrumpers?

History, however, will prove Trump guilty. It will then expose the GOP Senators for what they were: Trump doormats who were unable to rise above partisan politics to do the right thing.

I also think that acquittal will be bi-partisan in nature. What I do not think is that it will be massively bi-partisan; just that some few Dem senators will decide to do the right thing. What really interests me is how many RINOs will end up voting to convict Trump over this leftist generated rape of the intent of the Constitution. None? Some? A handful?

 

It's just more of the political Left deciding to switch from -- everybody who disagrees with Obama is a racist!' stuff to 'everybody who disagrees with the Dem Party's leadership is a Russian puppet!' stuff.

 

Indeed. We are still waiting for the Dem Party's leadership to come up with a charge that equates to either a High Crime OR a Misdemeanor -- oh and with actual meaningful evidence to back up the charge. Still . . . waiting.

If nothing else this farce makes the Dem Party's leadership -- in the House if nothing else -- look like the most incompetent political clowns in existence for going with made up charges, no actual evidence, and then demanding that the Senate do their groundwork for them AFTER they sent through a massively flawed set of impeachment articles. It's as if they were channeling the spirit of the Three Stooges on steroids.
