Surely their are many alien races that are vastly beyond are technology ;yet , they have never officially introduced themselves to us Reasons I can think of: 1) The universe is too vast 2) They came during early Earth and left 3) They have silently watched us 4) We are simply too stupid and not worth their time 5) They came during comic con and left because they thought other aliens were here lol
The speed of light along place a maximum limit on the speed of space travel and the distances distance separating planets where advanced civilizations could have involved could easily be 1000 light years or more. So, that makes space travel to a place like earth unlikely. I don't believe that aliens have ever visited earth or even know that we exist.
I think its likely. However, imagine ur an alien flying over earth. Do you just land on the corner or 5th and main, step out and wave hello? I wouldn't.
No wormhole is known to exist and even if they do exist they are likely very rare and would not be a means of space travel. They would destroy any form of life. I don't know what interdimensional travel is. There might be parallel universes but no way to travel between them.
I don't think theres any reason to limit a potentially unfathomably advanced race of aliens to similar travel means as our own.
It is extremely likely many advanced and intelligent species exist in this Universe, it is possible that some are even aware our species exists. It is however, unlikely that such creatures would take the risk of exposing them selves to such a violent and unpredictable situation as we represent. It would also represent an unacceptable form of cultural contamination to cause such upheaval in a developing society.
I currently believe that there is both intelligent life out there in the universe and that some of the more advanced ones are also visiting Earth for whatever reason. I wouldn't worry about the speed of light speed limit. There are ways to get around it if we become more advanced and if certain properties of the universe turn out to be true.
There is only 1 way that I know of to get around the speed of light being a limiting factor. Space can expand faster than the speed of light. Some alien civilization would have to make space expand faster than the speed of light and be able to use that technology to travel. This might prove to be too challenging for any alien civilization. It would require an enormous amount of energy and then the aliens would have to be able to control the expansion of space so they could stop at a particular location. Then, they would have to be able to return to their source and that would also require an enormous amount of energy plus the ability to expand space in the reverse direction in a very controlled manner. So, I think that the technological challenge would likely be too great for any alien civilization. If faster than light space expansion is not a viable mode of space travel, then any alien civilization would be limited by the enormous amount of energy required to produce a spacecraft travelling close to the speed of light and the vast distances between stars. There would be no way for an alien civilization living at even a modest distance of 1000 light years to know of our existence and there are a few million stars within a 1000 light year radius. What is the probability of an advanced civilization living on planet within a 1000 light year radius from earth? I think that it would be very low and the probability of an advanced civilization within a 50 light year radius from earth approaches zero. There are only 971 stars within a 50 light year radius from us - I got that figure from quora.com so I don't know if is accurate.
The problem with guessing the odds of a habitable planet being located within 1,000 lightyears from us is that we aren't there yet with the data. Although we are currently learning more and more with exoplanet discoveries. And, combined with the billions of stars in our galaxy, there is plenty of room for life to exist outside of Earth.
Oh, and I know that aliens are coming here because I personally encountered them several times in the 1990s.
I suspect since various forms of life have evolved here on Earth, given the potential numbers of planets in the Universe, that various forms of life exist across the Universe. I suspect all of them are dealing with the same issues we have here on Earth; extremely limited to no interstellar flight capabilities. New physics might exist to deal with the space-time conundrum but it's nothing we know about. How long can an advanced species survive? Earth only has a couple hundred years of technological intelligence. Common sense says if there is no check on indigenous population growth, at some point all of the host planet resources will be exhausted. What are the chances of cataclysmic natural disasters? A purple plague? An asteroid collision? Self-Annihilation? Even if a planet has 50 civilizations over millions of years that have come and gone...perhaps little to none of their knowledge is passed along? I suspect within a few years someone on Earth will detect a signal/sign of an intelligent species...all it takes is greatly improved technology, time, and luck! Meanwhile, all of our ET kicks must come from our science fiction writers...
Then that means whoever flies those tic tac craft are not ETs. I doubt even our govt knows what or who they are . They dont seem interested in introducing themselves. Just want to show off their superior tech. And showing nuclear powers they can shut down our icbms or launch them anytime they desire. Show offs .
Aliens would have to have the powers of Wormholes to break the Speed of light ( which is a fact) That means they can control Black Holes and STARS OR it means they have mastered Nanotechnology and can launch trillions of tiny little bots around
Somewhere in the universe there would be two planets close enough to each other with civilisations advanced enough to communicate with each other and travel. Earth it seems is not one of those
The highly respected journal, The Journal of the British Interplanetary Society [JBIS] published this paper. The four authors, a mix of various scientists and an engineer, argue that given the cutting edge of physics allows for the possibility of faster than light travel, there is sufficient evidence for UFOs for science to take the subject seriously. In other words, we can no longer claim they couldn't be here. And there is reason to believe they are or have been. https://www.researchgate.net/public..._Implications_for_Extraterrestrial_Visitation The introduction Inflation-Theory Implications for Extraerrestrial Visitation 1. Introduction The ever recurring question of why Earth has seem- ingly not been visited by extraterrestrials (ETs) has received considerable discussion under the topic of ‘Fermi’s paradox’. The problem originated as a quip by Enrico Fermi to colleagues in Los Alamos over lunch one day in 1950. Whether one assumes the existence of only one other civilisation or of many alien civilisations in our Milky Way galaxy, and whether one assumes colonisation involving interstellar travel at near-light speed or far below, diffusion modeling predicts colonisation or at least visitation of all hab- itable planets in the galaxy on timescales of tens of millions of years, far less than the approximate 13 x 109 year age of the galaxy itself. Thus the paradox: Where are they [1]? Theoretical possibilities unknown to Fermi make the paradox even stronger today. One can now ra- tionally conjecture about prospects afforded by ad- jacent M-brane universes [2]. Indeed, if the multidimensions underlying superstring and M-brane theory are correct, there could be inhabited universes separated from our own by minute, orthogonal dis- tances. Also, anthropic reasoning has recently been applied to inflation theory, arriving once again at the conclusion that we should find ourselves within an enormously larger galactic civilisation [3]. While the ‘We are alone’ solution to Fermi’s paradox was once a seemingly valid one, this answer is now incompat- ible with the infinite universe and random self-sam- pling assumption consistent with inflation theory. We thus find ourselves in the curious position that cur- rent cosmological theory predicts that we should be experiencing extraterrestrial visitation. At the same time, current physics and astrophysics suggest that such visitation may not be as impossible as had been thought. 2. Recent Scientific Advances In recent astronomical discoveries, over 100 exoplanets have been catalogued, with detection Inflation-Theory Implications for Extraterrestrial Visitation JBIS, Vol. 58, pp. 43-50, 2005 J. DEARDORFF1, B. HAISCH2, B. MACCABEE3 AND H.E. PUTHOFF4 It has recently been argued that anthropic reasoning applied to inflation theory reinforces the prediction that we should find ourselves part of a large, galaxy-sized civilisation, thus strengthening Fermi’s paradox concern- ing “Where are they?” Furthermore, superstring and M-brane theory allow for the possibility of parallel universes, some of which in principle could be habitable. In addition, discussion of such exotic transport concepts as “traversable wormholes” now appears in the rigorous physics literature. As a result, the “We are alone” solution to Fermi’s paradox, based on the constraints of earlier 20th century viewpoints, appears today to be inconsistent with new developments in our best current physics and astrophysics theories. Therefore we reexamine and reevaluate the present assumption that extraterrestrials or their probes are not in the vicinity of Earth, and argue instead that some evidence of their presence might be found in certain high-quality UFO reports. This study follows up on previous arguments that (1) interstellar travel for advanced civilizations is not a priori ruled out by physical principles and therefore may be practicable, and (2) such advanced civilisations may value the search for knowledge from uncontaminated species more than direct, interspecies communica- tion, thereby accounting for apparent covertness regarding their presence. I've taught in the public school system for over 25 years and the longer I do, the more convinced I am that space aliens live on this planet and have kids.
Define "alien". If "alien" is what I think you are referring to, that is purely a religious belief and has nothing whatsoever to do with science.
Didn't mention radio waves? But there are other things to try to identify the potential for life forms then focus our technology on those promising planets to see what can be detected? No matter the path it will be like finding a special spec of sand in all of Earth's ocean shorelines...we're not exactly sure what to look for and our technology is limited...so baby steps. Earth has a specific signature so it's just a matter of having the technology to search for similar signatures, while also knowing life forms can also exist in environments unlike Earth...again...baby steps...
I've heard that islanders in the Pacific saw planes and carved them into rocks and worshipped them. The planes were still real...
