And Doug Jones but he saw the writing on the wall anyway, he probably has a new job already lined up.

Acquittal without a witness, strictly along partisan party lines.

The votes to convict were bipartisan however.

    Interesting swap

I wrote Jones on the Kavanaugh vote and this vote. Told him on both vote with the Dems and your career is over even suggested this would be a good time to switch parties. Bet he already has a new job lined up.

By the time Romney's term is over, he'll be Nancy's age. We're witnessing that public people should probably retire before they approach 80, when they can leave with a tiny bit of dignity. Watching the political elites' mental deterioration in public is a pretty sad spectacle.

Yes because failing to find a law Trump broke is exactly the same as murdering two people.

Which one holds more weight, impeachment by the House or acquittal by the Senate?

    After Impeachment....

That's hardly as important as being exonerated forever. This was the biggest liberal fail since Hillary...

The madness is over. Will the dems learn a lesson or will they stagger towards more silliness like a drunken Frankenstein monster and need to be stomped on again?

I do not consider it happy. No one should. This was the most partisan impeachment process that the United States has ever had. From the time that it began in the HoR to the vote in the Senate today ending it. It was nothing BUT partisanship. This is one of the very things that the Founders warned us against.

All that this has done is prove just how divided we are as a Nation.

We should not be happy. We should be worried, and sad.

What is happy about a corrupt grifter getting away with crimes. If he ripped you off at his bogus university you might sing a different tune, but maybe you're not even an American anyway.

So there is no such thing as a proper acquittal in this country because of one trial, the OJ Simpson trial everyone is really guilty.

Acquittal most definitely, which is why the constitution requires a much heavier vote to convict than to impeach.

That didn't occurred what was prevented was a corrupt House trying to unseat a duly elected on President for unimpeachable acts and not a single allegation of a crime.

So a partisan House cannot abuse the power of impeachment for partisan reasons to try and influence an election. But he was acquitted by simple majorities didn't you notice?
