    Anything to distract attention away from the facts that they can't even run a low-turnout caucus and have no sellable platform for 2020.

    I think it was a smart move personally. He can now retire being the 1st person in history to do something. He is the first person to do that in impeachment history so now he will at least go down in history with something other than failed presidential election run. Trump still wins and Mitt still gets a consolation prize

    I always thought the idea behind being a politician was to represent the people's wishes, to make the country stable and a great place to live and raise a family. A place where the citizen feels comfortable and confident in the political system and in particular ….. DEMOCRACY. But these impeach-at-all-costs b'stards are destroying every last bit of Democratic principle they find and turning it into a joke for the world to ridicule.

    Sure independents count, since you are stating it is required to be bipartisan to be valid does that mean acquittal was not valid (as it was only republicans) and conviction was legitimate?

    Republicans called witnesses and the president was allowed to participate — he refused to.
    Maybe if Republicans we’re actually trying to do their job instead of obstructing the process the entire way they wouldn’t have needed to be treated like children. They were wholly uninterested in the truth — and I truly believe this will be what is recorded in history.

Bullshit hearsay, no first hand witnesses and even the OTHER GUY the Ukraine President said he never felt pressured..     If you believe a nation is going to hurt their chances at receiving aid by acknowledging the loss of funds (which has been verified numerous times) you are sorely mistaken. If it is all lies why did trump intervene so heavily with the witnesses? Would you have cheered had this been a democrat interfering with witnesses?

    Except that's not how it works. All "impeached forever" means is "accused forever", but after an acquittal, the accusation means nothing. But the failed coup will forever be a stain on this House.
